THOSE WHO sat around the small dinner table were completely silent, an awkward tension appeared in the air the moment Allegra Swan walked through the front door demanding answers to her questions. It had been weeks since the confrontation, since her repressed memories came back.
"I came for answers, not for everyone to look at me like I'm stupid." Allegra spits, being the first to break the silence, her hand clenching the wood chair in front of her, the surface creaking as if it would break in her grip.
"We know," he finally speaks. "You will get them, just not today."
The words caused a fury like any other to rush through her veins, her chest begun to rise and fall quickly as she spun on her heel and rushed from the home whispering curses and other unfriendly words under her breath.
"hey," a hand grasps her wrist. "how'd it go?"
Allegra breathes in sharply, glancing over at her boyfriend. "I need to get the hell out of here before I explode."
"alright, come on." his hand moves from her wrist and to her hand, sliding his into hers. He gives it a reassuring squeeze before pulling away, breaking into a jog to match her pace as they made a beeline for the woods.
She breathed heavily, her chest rising and falling quickly. Allegra barely made into the woods before she felt her body change, no longer did she stand on two legs but now four, standing over her boyfriend who had been knocked over in the change.
He stared up at her, nothing but admiration lingering in his eyes as he gently threaded his fingers through her fur with a smile on his face.
Allegra felt her heart rate slow as she whined at him, he chuckles. How unusual it was that the tables had turned, except his girl was too pretty to send him running away.
God, he was obsessed with her.
A few minutes passed before she felt her fur retract and she landed on two feet, he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her taut against his body, her chest pressed against his.
"Im sorry." She mumbled.
He shakes his head, "im not."
He gently grasps her chin and forces her to look up at him, he smirks a little and leans down pressing his lips against hers in a fiery kiss that nearly knocked them both of their feet.
She smiled against his lips and wrapped her arms around his neck, fighting the inner urge to run away before she gets hurt, or before she hurts poor Embry, the boy who quite literally resembled a puppy. The boy with a heart of gold.
Embry broke the kiss after a moment and reached for his shirt pulling it over his head and offering it to her.
Allegra smiled bashfully before slipping it on, the fabric falling to her mid thigh, long enough to cover all the important bits. No longer was she exposed to any lingering eyes or the environments around her.
He slips his hand into hers and squeezes it reassuringly.
"Are you sure that you're okay?"
"He's my brother, Em." She whispers. "But it's like he's too scared to come near me now."
"Maybe you should talk to him."
"I don't know..." she starts before getting cut off.
"He loves you, more than anything. I've seen him be protective and I've seen him be angry but nothing like the way he is with you."
She swallowed nervously grasping his hand tightly as thoughts swirled around her head.
