Chapter 5

No One's POV:

Kai pulls on her leather jacket and grabs her phone, then keys before walking out of her room and down the hall meeting up with her daughter.

"You look beautiful, darling. Trying to get a shag in tonight?" Kai says then teases her daughter who playfully rolls her eyes with a chuckle.

   Katherine loops their arms together and nudges her mother with her hip. "Thanks, mother. But I'm not the one who wants to get a shag in tonight. Hmm, maybe some one that has the last name Summers?" She says in a teasing tone making Kai furrow her eyebrows in confusion.

  "Buffy wants to shag tonight?" Kai questions walking down the stairs with her daughter who shakes her head with a giggle.

  "No. I'm just messing with you, mother. But I'm pretty sure you should make a move tonight. The both of you are so obvious that you like each other it's almost pitiful," Katherine tells her with a childlike grin making Kai nod slowly.

  They head towards the garage and got in the car. Kai turns it on before pressing a button making the garage door lift up and she backs out of the garage then pressed the button so the door closed back up.

"Are you going to make a move, mother?" Katherine asks as soon as her mother begins the drive to The Bronze.

   Kai chews on her tongue softly before shrugging. "I believe so. I just don't want to come on too forward with it. Her opinion matters to me," she admitted making Katherine's gaze soften at that.

  She leans over the small console and kissed her mother's cheek gently before pulling away. "You're such a good gentlewoman. Thank you, mother for being this way," she states smiling and Kai smile to herself.

They pull into the Bronze's parking lot seeing a whole lot of teenagers dressed up in club clothes. Kai pulls into a parking spot and turned off the car then they got out.

"This is exactly what I was expecting," Katherine muses walking towards the entrance with her mother who's briefly eyeing all of the teenagers. Some of them she recognizes from school while others she doesn't.

Kai's POV:

"Kai," I turn my head seeing Angel with a serious expression so I tell Katherine to go on ahead while I see what he wants.

"Hey Angel. What's going on? Can't stay away from me?" I joke slightly getting half a smile out of the man who stands in front of me.

   "Guess I can't. I just came by to warn you and the slayer Buffy," he chuckles slightly before turning serious. I tilt my head slightly and inhale deeply smelling blood coming from him.

   "You're hurt," I state and he waves me off slightly while touching his left upper arm.

  "Yeah uh I didn't pay attention," he responds making me raise an eyebrow at that. When has he stopped paying attention to his surroundings?

"Haven't I taught you better, boy?" I say and quickly hit the back of his head making Angel wince and look at me with a serious look while rubbing the back of his head.

I shrug with a smirk that soon disappears when I smell my mate's scent getting closer. "Hey, Kai... and Angel. I didn't know you guys knew each other?" Buffy says with a confused smile as she stands next to me.

I give her a soft smile, "hello, love. You look beautiful." She looks down with a smile and a blush before looking back up at me.

"Thank you. You look beautiful too," Buffy shyly says making me grin down at her and we lock eyes. Angel clears his throat loudly making Buffy and I snap out of our daze.
