"HARDER! I need more," a drunk girl beside me shouted, her loud voice mingling with the booming music that permeated the club.
"More, DJ, more!" She stood, flailing her arms wildly as her body moved to every beat pouring from the speakers.
Again, remind me why I was in a nightclub? Ah, yes, to piss my insufferable boss.
I sat in a dark corner of the club, patiently waiting for Ryan to arrive with the drinks. Earlier, after the whole fiasco with Kian at the café, I'd told him about Kian's stupid rule. On a whim, Ryan decided to invite me out on a date. I mean, what other way than to mess Kian's rules? Our plan went along the lines of having fun, and letting him slip out the fact that I'd gone out with him, to Kian. Then watch Kian blow a casket because of our outing. Devious, I know.
Tapping a ring laden finger on the table, I scanned the rowdy area. Teeming with people, it was your average noisy party club. Same old vibrant and flashy lights, horny humans making out, those who were drunk either loitering in a daze or sleeping their asses out on sofas. Despite its raunchy vibes, the scene filled me with a sense of nostalgia. Days of working at my casino brought equally depraved situations to mind and believe me, I missed the heck out of that place.
Sad.
"I dig you, chica," a guy, whose breath stank like garbage, came into view.
Infuriated that someone had interrupted my train of thoughts, I peered up at the dude, disgust wrinkling my nostrils.
"I don't and that seat is taken," I told the bum when he made to sit down.
"Your loss, cherie.'" He stared at my braless chest, a creepy grin splitting his face into a smirk. Then the oloriburuku staggered off.
Damn men who couldn't seem to stop thinking with their dicks when they came across a woman. Shaking off the silly encounter, I retrieved my phone from the black clutch purse and scrolled through.
"Here is your Sex on The Beach, pretty." Ryan dropped the glasses of cocktails on the table just as he sat across from me.
I let go of my phone, returning it to my purse's hold. "Thanks."
"You're welcome," said Ryan. Hair packed in a man-bun, his hooded eyes twinkled with mischief as he lifted the leather jacket he had on him to place it behind his seat. Then, he scooted the chair aside and hunkered down.
"How's the party going?" He had to raise his voice, to be heard over the unruly yelling of the intoxicated crowd.
I drew the slightly full glass towards me. "Boring."
"Yeah, boring without me." Gulping down the wine, Ryan shot me a playful wink.
I laughed aloud, shaking my head in disagreement. As I lifted the cup to my lips coated in gloss, I recalled the off-point remark he'd made in my office.
"You know, yesterday, you said something about seeing me in Kian's pictures. . ." I trailed off, eying him. Something niggled at the back of my mind, a foreboding feeling. What if he was Kian's accomplice as well? Set to monitor my every move and report to him? Hmm.
Ryan rubbed the back of his neck, the awkward motion setting me on the edge. "That was a mistake. I meant the Kindle magazine. . . you know, you being a model and all that. As weird as it might seem, I'm a fan." If I wasn't so adept at knowing when people lied, I would have missed that slight tremble when he said Kindle.

Romance"You can have me, Kian," I whispered, elation that my plan was coming into play, making my voice low. "Are you sure? Because you don't know, Jade. You," a deep groan escaped him, the rumble of his words vibrating against the arch of my throat, "don...
