<Your lips are like wine and I want to get drunk>

|Kian|

Monday, June 28, 2021

THE FIRST sight that greeted me once I arrived at work was Ryan helping Jadesola out of his car, his palms wrapped around her waist to steady her.

Excuse me, what the fuck?

A dark glare coated my face, vexation pumping rapidly in my blood. With sharp strides, I stalked to their location.

"What's going on here?" I ground out between clenched teeth, eying the hand Ryan still rested on her waist. If there was a way I could envision a scissors out of thin air I would. Make good use of it to snip off those grubby fingers of his.

The two rascals, partners in 'do anything to upset Kian', turned to me. Jade propped her hands to the side of her hips, a bag hanging down one elbow. She cocked a perfectly trimmed eyebrow, scowling. "What does it seem like we're doing?"

"Something you're not meant to do?" I dragged out, my annoyance rousing further. Especially when I'd honed my gaze on Ryan stealing covert glances at her cleavage- she'd left two buttons undone, the cunny witch.

My left eye twitched in anger, lips pressed into a non-existent line as I watched him slide that probing gaze on her person.

Stuck with the urge to gouge out his pervy eyes, I bit out, my tone glacial, icy, "Eyes where it should be Ryan."

Caught, Ryan's head whipped up, feigning an angelic expression on the smug shit he called a face. "Aye captain."

Jade huffed, now crossing her arms across her breasts, that gesture enhancing the deep valley between them. Thrown off guard, I took an eyeful, my pants growing a bit tight.

Not now, fuck!

"Who's staring now?" Ryan whistled, a high-pitched noise that was meant to rile me. And rile me it did.

I shot him a quick glare. "Shut the hell up and get going."

Then I switched my acidic gaze to Jade. "You! Come with me."

"Don't rush me." For absolutely no reason, she took her precious time, dawdling like a pregnant snail as she plucked off imaginary lint from her immaculate white shirt. Standing on her toes, she leaned in and gifted Ryan a peck on his right cheek.

"Thanks for the ride, Ryan." A bright smile was tossed his way, highlighting the beautiful features she possessed.

Damn, she had never smiled at me that way.

"You're welcome, love. Anything for a beautiful woman like you," Ryan drawled, a twinkle of glee present in his eyes.

Love? When? How? Where? I itched to voice out my displeasure but I resisted the insistent compulsion to do so. Whatever they did wasn't any of my business.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

About an eternity later, while I stood fuming, knuckles tinged in white as they clutched my suitcase, Jade finally cast a withering look in my direction. "I'm ready now."

"Fin-fucking-nally," I growled, already striding towards my building. "Don't be late."

Eventually she caught up with me, left short-winded like she'd run a 10000 meters marathon. And yet, she claimed she was fit.

Now situated in the huge hallway, I weaved past my workers who chirped greetings here and there, unable to help but mention, "Why did you let Ryan give you a ride in his car? I thought we were clear on rule number six?"
