Unlike most cases, it was to be broadcast 2 hours before the senates ruling took place. I was in the edge of my office back at Nelson & Murdock. It took every bit of my attention, even away from foggy messing up my coffee. "Well.." He said "we can only hope and pray". I started to wonder what all the other supers were doing. If James and Steven were on their seats as well. Maybe they weren't, and just hoping the incoming tide wouldn't sweep them up. "ITS ON EARLY!!" Shouted foggy as I lost my self in deep thinking. "Turn it up, foggy.." I said as the head justice began his speech. "We, the chief justices of the American judicial system, have to put the ideals of America and her people first. They may have sacrificed life and limb for us, but that does not condone their actions. In a total vote of 5-2, the bill...." I had to take big breaths for the 3 seconds of pause. Each one felt like a hit upon my senses " will be allowed to be voted on by congress. The vote shall be taken at 8:00 est, and the results will be po-" foggy shut off the tv. He looked at me, and made sure I was ok. I just said 'you win some you loose some'. This took more out of me then a normal loss. I poured my blood sweat and tears in to this trial and they still don't see the light. I guess we WILL need to suit up. But there was the possibility of a veto from congress....I suppose anything is possible.

A group of superheroes convened at the Baxter building, home of the Fantastic 4, awaiting the ruling. There had been no major developments over the past hour, and it had gotten some heroes worried. "What if we went on strike?" Said young avengers member patriot "they'd have to notice that." Everyone turned to look at him. "Son....patriot was it...I don't think anyone could live up to that idea. There's to much criminal activity going on for us to ignore it." Many former friends were arguing. Hank pym and the falcon, wolverine and Spider-Man, even the invisible woman and Mr. Fantastic were at each other's throats. Then a familiar face walked up to me: blade, the vampire hunter. He was born a half breed, half human half vampire. It allows him, unlike other vampires, to survive in daylight. He's got a healing factor rivaling to wolverine, and sword skills matched only by the black knight. "Sorry for your loss" said blade as he readjusted his glasses "never did trust the court system." I sensed some tension in his voice. It was odd, like two voices speaking at once, his vampire side and his human side in total sync. "What do you mean?" I finally asked. Blade turned to me and said "You brought the sorcerer supreme into the courtroom, along with a goldmine of witnesses. Why do you think that the prosecution won? War machine? He is just a less convincing tony stark. No way in hell he'd be able to swing over the majority of the justices." I thought about it for a moment "so you are saying that they may have been....bought? But that would remove them of their license!! Why?" "No idea" said blade. "It's just something to think about." I wonder why he of all people brought it up...I didn't think blade even owned a TV. Or even bought a newspaper. "So which side are you on?" Blade moved to one of the gigantic window panes near the side of the Baxter building "I have no side" said blade "I hunt vampires, witches and demons. There are currently more of those than there are superheroes. I've got my hands full right now, and I sure as hell don't have time for your 'civil war' crap." Point taken. Then all of a sudden, in the distance, I heard 3 things: a gun firing, glass breaking and....a jet? Then all of a sudden the jet took a drastic dive. What was going on? "Oh. my. God. Steve...why?" Said ms marvel. Captain America just jumped head first out of the shield helicarrier, on to a jet, and proceeded to hold a gun to the pilots head until he flown him out of the country. It was an inspiring moment, surely. But I still questioned why he did it. Why, after all his service and all his sacrifice, he turned his back on America when it needed him most. "Ok guys...show time" said doctor strange as he turned the tv's on to the broadcast. ".....and it is our duty, to protect the American people, both super and normal, both humane and inhuman, mutant and normal alike, from the dangers we pose to ourselves. That is why, in the eyes of this legislature, we will pass the super human registration act, requiring those who sign to work as members of the government. Those who refuse to sign, will be branded as national criminals. As of now, there will be a registration area in every state for easy access to super heroes both big and small. The first will be placed at stark tower where...." I couldn't believe what I'm hearing. They already have given up on us. While everyone was leaving, a familiar scent entered the room, walked up to me, and said "Now are you ready to face true hell?" It was d-man. "Dennis..." He's spat in my face, and ran back to the elevator. "Just remember daredevil...the devil isn't the devil without sin."
