The Forgotten Magic

Chapter 1: The Birthday

-Mystic's POV-

My name is Mystic, but my friends call me Mist, my best friend/only friend is my brother Drake. Today it is our birthday, me and my brother's, we are turning 16, which is special for us because are parents said the day after we turn 16 they will give us a long talk. My brother and I woke up way too early, because we were super excited and are parents do this Christmas type thing were we get presents when we wake up. We were probably too old for it, but it was tradition by now so we did it any way.

Right as are parents woke up they just looked at us. It was weird they looked like they had never seen us before they smiled but had a hint of worry, I could tell Drake saw it too. Then they just continued walking down the stairs, it was weird but I stopped thinking about it a few seconds afterwords any ways. I figured their probably just stressed. They started us breakfast, my dads famous waffles,and my moms eggs, the eggs were kind of gross but we pretended to like them anyways, anytime she made them. Right as breakfast was done we started eating, eager to begin are birthday.

We talked about random topics like school and stuff until Drake asked the weirdest question, he said, "does are family have a past for anything out of the ordinary." That was weird but what my parents reaction was, was even weirder, they dropped their forks and slightly shivered. Drake immediately said, "sorry just curious", and my parents just continued eating like they hadn't heard anything. I was mind blown are parents always told us everything and I could tell they were hiding something.

Right after breakfast we said thank you to are parents for what they got us, which was just some clothes cause that's what we wanted. Then we decided to start to head out we planned to go to an amusement park for the afternoon because Drake loved roller coasters and I loved the shops and stuff, but I hated roller coasters so I never went on them. We just wandered around the amusement park for like 4 hours then decided to get lunch at are favorite restaurant Greasy Sal's, Sal was an old friend of my dad from high school and college so we went there a lot. Today since it was are birthday Sal gave us free cake which was weird since it was a burger place, so I guessed his wife Heather made it. It was pretty good except for the fact I think Drake got a hair which I guess made it better because I got to laugh at him.

Soon after dinner and dad talked to Sal, we decided to go back to the house, once there they gave us the rest of are presents which were some headphones one for each of us, I didn't complain. Then, they said to just go do whatever you want it is your birthday after all and my brother whispered to me to go upstairs with him I thought it was dumb but I did any way. Upstairs he took me into his room and shut the door immediately he just said, "we need to talk". He seemed almost scared, I said," what" and then it started, he immediately blurted out," I think I'm going crazy, I hear voices in my head I woke up panting this morning from a dream and the dream was so real, it was of the house burning down and things in my head kept saying your fault, your fault and" I stopped him to think "this is why mom and dad acted so weird this morning," I said. After that he just commented," exactly, that's what makes me even more scared is somehow they knew something about it." Then are parents called us down for dinner and Drake immediately said." keep this between you and me," so I just nodded.

Dinner was fine I just couldn't get what Drake said off my mind everyone was just silent at dinner something was really weird, so i finally asked," what is going on." Are parents just looked at each other and said," we are very sorry but we will explain everything in the morning," I just said,"ok." So at the end of the day, after dinner I just sat in my bed thinking that whatever this talk is it better be heard in the morning, but it never was.

-Sorry for the short chapter but I want to upload ruffly one a day so they will most likely be pretty short.

Also sorry for the cliff hanger but not really cause I know what happens so........
