Connor Hale Pov

"So one waffle or two waffles?" I asked Ellie, as I grabbed plate for her. Ellie was always an early riser, she liked to get the most of the day. She is a lot like me in that way. You only have one life, don't waste it. "Three!" She shouted. You know toddler's, just pick the option they can't have. At least she didn't say a thousand. "Well, just because today is a special day I'll let you have three." She smiled a huge smile and clapped her hands in delight.

Sadly preschool didn't start until next Monday. Alyssa being the amazing sister she is, said she would spend the whole day with her and just have a girls day. Which meant Alyssa decided to just spend the night in the guest room. I guess it just made life easier. Speaking of the devil, Alyssa came into the kitchen. Heading straight to where I keep the coffee cups. "Oh Connor, you can't wake your daughter up early just because you want to see her before you go." She said, sounding slight disappointed in me. All I did was roll my eyes at her and handed Ellie her waffles.

"I wanted to see Dada!" She yelled, clapping her hands together. I smiled and ruffled her hair. Always one to defend her father. "Well speaking of going, I probably should go." I sighed, while looking at the clock. Alyssa set her cup down and put her hand on my shoulder. "Hey, good luck." I nodded. She handed me my keys, I went over to Ellie and kissed her in the forehead. "Bye, Jelly Belly." She said a goodbye with her mouth full of food. All I could do was just laugh.

I grabbed my motorcycle helmet from the garage, and went to my motorcycle. Normally I would drive my car, but first impressions last, so why not make a memorable one?

Jo Wilson pov

I used to be excited to start a shift, everytime I would feel a buzz. Ever since Alex left, the buzz was gone. Well it was gone a little bit before he left, the buzz left when I met my birth mother. Now I just feel a sense of dread. Of course today was one of those day Levi asked me to drive him to work. Something about just feeling to exhausted to ride his bike to work today. Which is reasonable, but usually whenever he feels to exhausted he gets a ride from Nico. I guess cause Nico was already there before hand.

I pulled up to his mother's house and sent him a texting letting him know I was there. A few seconds later, Levi came rushing out of the house. Somebody was excited to get to work. He jumped into the passenger seat and buckled himself up. "Hey, thanks for doing this." He sounded out of breath. "Yeah, of course." I said, giving him a soft smile before I drive off to the hospital.

Finding a parking spot for the hospital is always a pain in the ass, even with an employee parking section. So I had to go pretty far in the back. What a great way to start the day. Levi didn't seem to mind or he at least didn't say anything. "So you and Nico?" I asked. He looked around a second before taking a deep breath. "Are on a break right now." This seems to be a popular trend. I nodded. "How about you and Dr. Avery?" He countered.

About that I texted him last night to end it. He was actually very respectful about to. Which is a relief to actually find a man that can be respectful and not try to force you into anything. "Are just friends, no more benefits." He nodded, we both got out of the car. Right that second I saw a motorcycle shoot through the parking lot. The driver found a parking spot a little bit higher than me and Levi. So slightly less walking for him. He parked, he sat there a second before he took off his helmet. "Oh my God." I didn't even realize I said it. He looked like one of those modeling commericals, where the really hot guy sells deodorant that actually doesn't make guys smell good.

The guy looked around the parking lot for a little bit, then he decided to go into the hospital. "Who is that?" Levi asked. He was probably some patients husband, no guy that handsome is single. "No idea." Was all I said before we decided to head inside. Bailey and Meredith were currently talking to somebody, most likely the new Peds guy. Which didn't really matter to me, so I didn't exactly pay attention.

"Hey Jo." Deluca greeted, as he came in with Carina. Carina just looked happy to be here, like always. "Hey Deluca." I went to go change into my scrubs, might as well start the day.

Throughout the day the entire hospital was buzzing about the new Peds guy. You know the saying hospital gossip gets spread like wild fire. I mean I guess the patients have nothing better to do. I was kinda surprised I went almost the whole day without meeting him. It was already almost time to go. I was supposed to meet up Link for drinks after work. He wanted to talk about possible ways to purpose to Amelia. I am happy for him I really, but I have a feeling it's not going to work.

After changing out if my scrubs I go to the lobby. Link was speaking to someone, I couldn't see who it was only the back of his head. But from the looks of it, it looked like motorcycle guy. "Hey Jo!" Link shouted, after he spotted me. Waving me over to meet the new guy. I slowly went over to where Link and Motorcycle guy was standing. When I got to Link, motorcycle guy spoke. "Hey I'm Connor Hale. I'm the new head of peds."
