"Potter?"

Draco could hear him move around in his bed, again.

Did Potter have these nightmares more frequently than Draco thought?

Getting up from his own bed, Draco stood up and rubbed his eyes, blinking.

"Please don't.." Potter whimpered lowly, and Draco could hear the sound of his duvet being pushed to the side.

What could he be dreaming of anyway?

Draco was really curious to know, but he didn't know wether or not the subject was too much for Potter, seeing as he was apparently so affected by it.

Draco walked closer, trying to see the other boy in the dim-lighting.

"Potter?" Draco repeated, his voice holding a caring and uneasy tone.

Potter just shook his head, his eyes being squeezed shut.

Draco frowned and tried to touch him softly, not wanting to startle him, his hand grazing his arm. He hoped he wouldn't wake him too much; Potter already looked tired majority of the time.

Potter stopped moving around, but his eyes were still closed tightly.

Draco watched him for a short moment, Potter still pulling a face that could only mean he was distressed, but he wasn't speaking or whining anymore. "Potter?" He asked again, and Potter's eyes fluttered.

Draco then sucked in a sharp breath when Potter mumbled something and suddenly got a hold of his hand, in a quick move.

"Potter—" The other boy pulled him down onto the bed, Draco ending rather awkwardly, lying half on the bed, half over the edge.

Draco tried to get up, but Potter wouldn't let go of his hand, as he then intertwined their fingers.

Draco watched his and Potter's hand, a wave of heat hitting him. "..What are you doing?" He spoke lowly.

Draco couldn't help but think about just how Potter's warm hand fit perfectly with his own. Potter's hand was much daintier and relatively smaller than Draco's.

Potter turned his back to him, pulling Draco slightly further onto the bed.

"Protect me," Potter mumbled shortly.

Draco felt his face grow hot as he stared at the silhouette of the other boy.

Oh, Potter made it so hard to not think he was absolutely adorable. It was definitely all Draco could think about, right now.

Potter moved slightly again, trying to get closer, his back pressing up against Draco's chest.

Draco, his heart beating slightly faster, laid properly down on the bed, and let Potter cuddle up to him as close as possible.

Draco should've really forced Potter to let go of him, and walked over to his own bed, because this was getting ridiculous. It had to be stopped.

Nonetheless, wrapping his arms around him, Draco found himself spooning Potter.

Potter was warm against him, his breathing also much faster than Draco's, but when Draco started to run his thumb over the back of his hand — They were still holding hands because Potter just wouldn't let go — Potter seemed to relax more and more.

He leaned further into Draco with a sigh of contentment, and Draco simply just smiled to himself; Probably looking all too happy for his own liking.

He was a whole head taller than Potter, so he rested his chin on Potter's messy hair, the curls tickling him slightly.
