I'm still here for you

Slowly but surely, more and more people left the Jam&Roller. Once Jim was certain that none of her friends could see her, she sat down at the bar, placed her head on the table and just started letting everything out.
The amount of regret towards the past she was feeling right now was truly overwhelming, especially on the day that is supposed to be her best. How could they have been so distant?

After a few minutes, Pedro started approaching her from the other side of the bar. Even though he didn't have to treat her badly like the rest, it was still hard to see her like this. "Hey Jim, is this a bad time to wish you a happy birthday?", he politely asked.
"Oh hey Pedro. No, it's alright. Thank you, it's nice to know that at least someone remembered", Jim managed to smile at him a little in between her sobs.
"Anytime. I even brought you a little gift. It's not much, but I hope you like it regardless." Pedro pulled a small box, gently wrapped into pastel-green wrapping paper with white polka-dots on it, out of his back pocket and placed it on the table, in front of Jim, who couldn't stop staring at his friendly gesture. "Thank you, seriously. I'm really happy about this", she tried her best to answer. In fact, she loved the look of it so much, that she didn't even want to open the gift. Ever-so-slightly, she took the lid off of the box and it started to reveal a beautiful, purple shimmering brooch in the shape of a heart. Jim immediately took it out of its box and pinned it to her shirt.

"It's absolutely gorgeous, thanks a lot!", Jim wholeheartedly thanked him, whilst embracing Pedro over the counter.
"No problem, besides, it looks stunning on you. It matches your hair", Pedro grinned, managing to get Jim to blush, even though he actually didn't know anything about matching colours and just went with his gut feeling in the moment.

"I hope I was able to, at the very least, cheer you up a tiny bit", Pedro exclaimed.
"Oh, you've done a whole lot for me, seriously", Jim said, her tears having dried, leaving her smiling.
"I'm so sorry, but I have to look after the track. We can meet in front of the Roller later though, if you'd like. I'm free by then", Pedro asked her, finally steering the conversation to where he needed it to be.
"Oh I would love to. Could I maybe come at 5?"
"Of course, for you anytime, I'll await you then. For now, I believe it's best if you go home and calm down a bit, okay? You can always call me if you need anything though, my phone isn't on mute during work."
"Pedro, your phone is literally on mute all the time", Jim stated, raising an eyebrow at the black haired boy. He pulled out his phone and, to his genuine surprise, the 'mute' icon in the hot bar was activated, which he quickly turned off.
"See?", Jim mockingly said.
"Ok ok, maybe it was on mute, but now it's not, I swear!", Pedro jokingly said, both of them erupting in laughter. After getting herself back together, Jim finished off by: "Thanks for everything, see you later!" She smiled, now feeling more content than before.
Sometimes she wondered what life would be like without the, sadly sometimes forgotten, Pedro. Definitely a lot different she figured, Jim didn't even want to imagine how this afternoon would have played out if he hadn't consoled her.

Jim smiled at him one last time before the pair hugged goodbye and Jim rushed out of the Jam&Roller, waving Pedro goodbye.

FelicityForNow comes to the rescue

At the entrance door, Jim stopped to check her phone. Intentionally, she didn't want to see any messages her friends might have written to her or anything like that, but right before she turned her phone back off again, Jim saw something pop up in her push notifications: a new post of FelicityForNow. Purely out of curiosity, Jim clicked on it and was more than glad that she did. It read as follows:

(which translates to the following: (I knew learning a bit of Spanish + a bit of help from Google was worth it.)

Almost all of us have a group of friends that we love with all our heart and who we wish the best for. So when a person who always cares about you has something very important for them coming up, you wish them the best.

One of the most important dates in life is the day that we become adults. It is a day that marks a new stage in life and everyone deserves to enjoy it in the biggest way possible.

Happy 18th birthday Jim, somebody who sees me as more than just Felicity, but instead as the person behind it all. I wish you all the best for today.

If she could, Jim would run to hug Felicity right now. Jim loved how she most likely didn't know what was going through her head, but like always, she found exactly the words to help Jim cheer up, and that in the most poetic form possible.

Her mood lifted by that moving post and Pedro's magnificent gift, Jim made her way back home, past the park behind the Blake, where usually, her and her friends always hang out. There, she saw two familiar people: Matteo and Ámbar.
They were solely practising some dance moves, presumably to show off at the Next Open. Not wanting to be confronted with Ámbar's stupid comments at the moment, Jim quickly rushed past the couple and went home. Behind her back, she heard the two laugh, most likely about her, but the last thing Jim cared about right now, was that show-off couple.

After Jim had settled down at home, she just sat on her bed and thought: 'Is it true? Did everybody seriously forget about me?' Now having six hours to think about what had happened before she met up with Pedro, that was exactly what she did.
