...an important realisation
After her friends had finished their 'Happy Birthday' chanting, they all started clapping like wild, causing Jim to feel even more embarrassed.
But now, it was finally time to blow out the candles.
Jim slowly stood up in her chair, since, even without moving, she was still very close to the cake.
Whilst holding her hair up with her left hand, Jim blew as hard as she possibly could, but she only managed to blow out half of the candles.
Even though she was a bit disappointed that she needed two attempts for 18 candles, she quickly blew again and the rest lost their sparkle.
Jim sat back down in her chair as her friends started clapping again.Afterwards, they all sort of started talking to each other, which gave Jim some time to think.
From time to time, she looked at each and every one of her friends.Yam had had the biggest smile on her face since the beginning of the evening, genuinely being happy for her friend.
Simón and Luna seemed to have gotten closer lately; the pair definitely locked their gazes a few times too often.
When Ramiro caught Jim glancing at him, he smiled back at her reassuringly.
It was an enticing glance, one Jim wasn't familiar with and couldn't quite figure out. What she didn't know was that secretly, Ramiro had been wanting to see her smile around him for once for a while now, since he thought he was 'scaring her off'.
Jim also caught Delfi casually looking at Pedro, even though she tried her best at hiding it. 'What's up with that?', she thought.
After a few more glances at her other friends, it became more obvious to her that Nico was indeed missing.
Very strange, especially since he was, for sure, the most invested in Jim.Before being able to continue her thoughts, Nina interrupted them. "One moment, I forgot the knife in the kitchen", she exclaimed.
"And you said I wasn't prepared!", Simón answered at her, pointing a finger towards her.
"I usually am, Simón, you just made me nervous, okay?", Nina pointed her finger back at him, even standing up for it, leaving the other in shock.
"Come on, you could've-"
"Guys, no need to argue over a knife!", Luna frantically tried to stop them, but it didn't work.
Instead, Nina just left the room to avoid confrontation, like she always did and Simón sat down as well. There, the other boys told him to not argue with 'that girl'. What did that mean?... and an adorable speech
Whilst Nina was gone, Jim used this opportunity, in order to make to a speech to her guests.
But before it started, Nina rushed back to her seat, cuddling up to Luna and Jazmín started filming for FabNChic, which required an extra recording, since the one she had been currently using was only raw footage, and Jazmín was inevitably too lazy to edit out unnecessary parts before uploading her content.
This usually came with a lot of slip ups, where the wrong content accidentally made it into the video. To make filming easier for Jazmín, Delfi offered up her arm for her to snuggle into, which she, of course, accepted right away.
Jim stood up in her chair once more, now turning to face her guests while she spoke."So uhm, now that we have some time, I wanted to take the moment to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I'm pretty sure you guys know I acted pretty childish at the idea of a huge party. Well, truth is, since I was little, I had always dreamed of a big party like this, or even a party in general to be honest. A party with decor, a party with a big cake and the important thing: my friends. Thank you all for making my biggest wish come true, even if unknowingly.
Wow, I am really bad at speeches. Point is, I would have never been able to enjoy something like this without you guys, you all are the best friends one could wish for.
