"Well, uhh, to switch the topic back to something PG13 related, thank you a lot, girls!
Now, we'll gladly continue with...""Now, we'll gladly continue with... Simón!", Jim quickly continued, "Woohoo, Simón please just continue-"
"As you wish", he replied and put his table on the table.
Since Delfi noticed that he was seated at the opposite end of the table, she simply grabbed the gift out of his hands, pushed it over to Jazmín, who then gave it to Jim.
Whilst Simón just threw her a confused glance, Delfi smiled back at him unknowingly.
When the present was pushed across the table, its noise made it easy to figure out what it was.
Everyone was confused when they thought to have guessed correctly, due to there not being any reason in particular for the present. The only one oblivious to the wrapper's content was, of course, Jim.
Once the box had arrived in front of her, she decided to not further shake it, since it had already sounded like the 'Attack of the Bells' when it was only pushed around a bit among her friends, she was also scared that it might break.
Instead, it caught Jim's attention with its peculiar shape.
The box didn't have normal edges like a cube, but it wasn't a ball either, rather a sort of deformed hexagon. The present hadn't been as neatly wrapped as Yam's, being full of duct tape keeping it from opening and the wrapping paper not being properly folded, but Jim didn't mind that at all.
The mystery of what Simón had gotten her was just too captivating.I mean, they weren't all too close; sure, they knew each other over Nico, but actually getting presents for each other is another thing.
She wasn't scared it was bad or anything, instead, she was genuinely excited for a truly unexpected gift.
The same thing could be said about Gastón's gift too, since those two didn't know each other at all.
Maybe the 'lover boys', how Jim liked to title them, had finally asked their 'soulmates' for help, in this case clearly meaning Luna and Nina.
The two obviously knew what they were doing when it came to gifts, so maybe the pairs have finally found together?
In Jim's eyes, it was more than obvious that Simón had developed a little crush on his best friend.
Every time she talked, he looked at her with a mesmerised glance.
Every time she entered the Roller, he'd put down everything he was doing, even band practices, and pay attention to her.
As if she was a star, just waiting to enter the galaxy that was the Roller.
And they had known each other even before moved to Argentina, then Simón had mysteriously left everything behind, in order to follow her here.Wait, was that a sign?
What she also remembered, was that she had seen the two in the park after school once lately, intensively talking about something.
At the time, she hadn't been interested in what the two were doing, but maybe they were on a date? Or perhaps discussing her gift?
No, that's just a selfish thought; they must have certainly been on a date, judging by the looks on their faces.
Simón had a certain way of looking at the girl with his dreamy, but loving look which the brunette, for some reason, wasn't able to notice.
Now thinking about it, Jim found it sad that she hadn't just sat down on a nearby bench and spied on them, maybe then she would know more about if the two were actually in a relationship or if Simón is facing unrequited love, since for some reason, nobody knew if Luna shared his feelings.
Maybe they would find out tonight?Once Jim had finished her 'zoning-out' moment, she continued to further look at the box.
The wrapping paper was neon blue, being covered in 'Happy Birthday's and balloons of all sorts of colours, the default option for wrapping presents.
Jim forcefully pulled at the loose strands of tape holding the gift together, therefore opening the gift.
It wasn't quite that easy, in the end, she even needed Ramiro's help to open it, causing Simón to just yell 'Sorry!' from the back. But alas, Ramiro and Jim simultaneously pulled at the right strings and the wrapping paper just flew straight to the ground behind them.
"Oh crap, I can't r-reach-", Jim said, while trying her best to lean over her chair and grab a hold of it.
"Just leave it Jim, I'll pick it up later", Pedro informed her, her smiling back at him.
"Ok, thanks. WOW!", she stated as her eyes focused on Simón's gift.It was a brand new and polished, dark-red tambourine with Jim's name carved into the handle in cursive.
Jim couldn't even take her eyes off of the unexpected treasure while she stood up in order to test it.
After simply shaking it around a bit as any three-year-old would and recreating a short section of the rhythm of 'A Rodar Mi Vida' with a mixture of simply waving her wrist in motion and slapping the tambourine against her right hip, she was stunned."Oh my god, thank you, Simón! No lo puedo creer, what made you think of this for me?", Jim asked him, while also smiling at him.
"I'm glad you like it!", Simón answered first.
"To be honest, I was looking for something unique.
Then I remembered that Nico once told me that you would love to make music with him, but that you also didn't want to learn how to play the guitar, since that would take a long time."
"...I'm not going to question why you remembered that conversation so much."
"Yea, so uhm, anyway. I also remember you complaining that couldn't, since 'Yam already plays it, so I can't, Nico! That's friendship rules!'", Simón dramatically tried re-enact that conversation.
"Jim, I love you."
"Thank you, Yam!"
"So, I thought this would be the right solution for you. ...You can also surprise Nico with your 'new skills', since Nico doesn't know yet!", Simón finished."You're so considerate, how cute!", Luna admired him, which made the group erupt into laughter and cause Simón to blush heavily; further proving his crush for her.
'He sure does know me better than I thought he did', Jim thought.
"Wow, that Nico remembered that! I so have to show him later on. Seriously, where is he?", Jim asked, the rest just shaking their heads.
"I don't know, but when he's back, you should definitely show it to your boyfriend", Ramiro interrupted, causing the boys to smirk alongside him.
"He's not my boyfriend Ramiro!", Jim tried to disprove him, not being very convincing though, since she was as red as a tomato.
"He will be soon enough though!", Luna added, whilst her and Ramiro high-five over the table.
"Stopp", Jim tried to defend herself."...we'll see about that", Nico thought to himself in the next room, also eagerly waiting for a tambourine performance of his girl.
In order to calm down, Jim continued to fiddle about with her tambourine for a while until everyone was quiet again and she decided to continue on with the gifts.
"Thank you again Simón! I wouldn't have expected it, but it's great!", Jim showed him two thumbs up.
"No problem, glad you like it", he answered back.
"Well done, Simón", Luna congratulated him, while holding onto his arm.
"It was nothing...", was all the boy could bring out.Jim pulled out the generator once more, in order to look at the order again.
"Ok, next up is..."
