CHAPTER 1
BEEP!! BEEP!!! BEEP!!!!!
Delilah's brown-green tinted eyes flashed open and she grabbed her phone quickly and smashed the screen with her index finger, turning the alarm off. She rubbed her eyes and let out a groan as she yawned. Delilah sighed and jerked herself up from her wonderfully cozy and warm bed, into the cold morning air, and made her way into the bathroom linked to her bedroom. She flipped the shower nob on and undressed as she waited for the water to warm up, not wanting to take a cold shower this morning. She groggily got into the enclosed space, and showered off all her tiredness and that stinky morning scent. Delilah couldn't stand a day without showering, she always felt disgusting if she missed a day. She always felt oily and stinky if she missed a day.
After about ten minutes, Delilah finished up in the bathroom and wrapped her body in her rather scratchy towel, but Delilah didn't mind the feeling of the material against her skin. Delilah walked out of her bathroom and picked up her iPhone which was placed on her bedside table. She turned on the radio on her phone and hummed along to the music as she got ready. It was a crisp Saturday morning, and although Delilah usually would be sleeping in at this time, especially since it was winter break, she had to be up this certain Saturday. Delilah was going with her mom and grandma, (G-Jay, which was Delilah's grandmother's nickname) to this sort of convention thing for their church. Delilah's mother taught the children in their church, and since her mother was in charge, (Annie is Delilah's mother) Annie had to go to this convention to choose the curriculum she thought would best suit her teaching skills, and the children she taught; and since Delilah grew up in children's ministry, Annie decided to bring her daughter along, just because Delilah was a good chooser when it came down to what children would enjoy best.
Delilah finished applying very light amount of makeup, it had barely even looked like she was wearing any at all, but Delilah had to cover up a few breakout spots and discoloration on her skin. Delilah didn't like caking on a ton of makeup, like most of the girls in her school did. She just liked a small amount, just to feel more confident in her looks. After all, Delilah was a pretty decent looking young girl. At the age of seventeen, she looked as if she could be in her twenties. It wasn't a bad thing that she looked older, she just looked more mature than her actual age. This Delilah didn't mind much, because she felt proud when people had mistaken her for an older age, but sometimes she hated it as much as she could like it. Sometimes it would get on Delilah's nerves, but mostly, she didn't mind.
Delilah unwrapped her damp dark brown wavy, yet almost slightly red looking at some points, hair and took the towel to her bathroom. She set the towel out to dry, and walked back into her room, turning the blowdryer on and started to blow-dry her long wavy hair. Mason,
"Delilah! Are you ready?" Annie's (Delilah's mother) voice seemed echo in their small house, causing Delilah to jump slightly. Delilah jumped over an obstacle of clothes that needed to be folded and put away, and grabbed her black, with pink and purple details, Victoria's Secret sweatshirt. This sweatshirt meant a lot to Delilah. She had begged for it for almost a full year, until finally, her mother gave in and bought it for Delilah's birthday in April. She quickly slipped the slightly baggy sweatshirt over her head, rushed to her dresser and brushed her hair out, grabbed her purse and phone, and rushed down the stairs.
G-Jay was sitting at the table, eating some strawberries and a few other fruits scattered across her plate.
"Morning Mom, morning G-Jay!" Delilah's cheerful, yet slightly rushed voice ran through the small kitchen and she quickly opened the fridge and got out a water bottle.
