 Chapter 6

 Delilah's POV

"Well hello dear,"  My grandmother politely greeted Madden and I as we walked into the room.  Madden awkwardly took the seat beside me, and Owen was glaring daggers at him the whole time.  I swear I felt something stab me in the stomach when I saw everyone glaring at Madden as if he were some serial killer or something.  I frowned deeply, why were they treating him like this?

"I invited Madden to stay for dinner,"  I faced my grandmother.

She gave me a weak smile and replied, "I can see that.  Very thoughtful of you Delilah - very thoughtful."

I shook my head.  I don't care if they don't want Madden here.  I wanted Madden here, and he was my guest, not theirs.  There was a long silence, which lasted about ten minutes.  Owen hadn't taken his eyes off of Madden, and he was still glaring at him.  Madden didn't return the glares or attitude towards Owen.  Owen seemed to be the only super angry one here - and I couldn't help but wonder why.

"So how was the movie?"  Grandpa asked, breaking the horribly long silence.

I lifted my head from staring at my food and frowned.  "It was terrible."  I stated with the most disturbed look on my face I could fathom.

"Horrible?  Why?"  Grandpa peered closer in his chair as his curiosity took over.

"It was a horror movie."  I frowned and Madden chuckled.

Owen clutched his fists and stared at Madden with utter hatred.  "You think that's funny, do you?"  Owen asked Madden.  Madden was caught off guard, as was I.  "She has nightmares you know!  You should just leave Delilah alone, she doesn't belong to you."  Owen spat.  How does he know I have nightmares?  Wait, who cares!  He's insulting Madden, practically for no reason!

I stood up, anger raging through every bone within me.  How dare he!!  "Leave him alone, Owen!"  I yelled.  Owen's shocked face with wide eyes stared at me.  "It's none of your business as to who I hang out with!  And I don't BELONG  to anyone!!!"  I yelled at the top of my lungs, and everything went silent.  I ran out of the room, grabbed my coat from the coat hanger on the way out, and ran as fast as I could from that house.  Who does he think he is?!!?  I ended up walking towards the woods.  Just the place I wanted to be right now.  I was sick of this place, and I was sick of Owen.  I was so angry.  I wanted to punch something, or someone.  Like Owen.  I wanted to scream from the top of my lungs just to let my anger out.  I know I was overreacting a bit, but for some reason, Owen took it too far for me.  He had me pissed.

Madden's POV

"Lilah!"  I followed Delilah as she rushed into the woods.  Her quickened pace slowed when she heard me.

"What Madden?"  Delilah snapped at me.  I was taken aback a little, but I brushed it off, knowing she was just angry.

"Hey, slow down,"  I grabbed her waste and flipped her around and held her body against mine.

Her eyes immediately dropped to the ground, dragging her head along with them.  "I'm sorry, Madden,"  Delilah whispered quietly.  My features softened.  I lifted Delilah's chin up with my index finger so I could see her pretty face when I spoke.  I smiled at her, "There's that pretty face of yours,"  I stared into my eyes, and Delilah's cheeks flushed a bright red color.  She seemed to  have calmed down a lot.  The anger had almost completely vanished.  I leaned closer to Delilah, yearning to be near her, to smell her delicious, sweet scent, to hear her beautiful, melodic voice ring in my ears.  I need her.
