PICTURE OF MADDEN IS UP! :)

Chapter 5

Delilah's POV

I walked through the front door to the house.  I had a smile stuck to my face.  Today had been a good day.  A really good day.  I was getting to know Madden better, and that oddly made me happy.  I grabbed the handle to my door and was about to turn it when I heard someone call to me across the hall.

"Delilah,"  I heard Owen's voice call to me and I spun around on my heals.

He caught me off guard and I let out a breath of relief when I realized who it was.  "What Owen?"  I was still mad at him about the things that had happened earlier at school, and how he didn't take me home. I guess you could say I was overreacting slightly, but I didn't care. Though I enjoyed myself while hanging out with Madden and all, it still hurt me.

I opened the door to my room and waited in the doorway for him to respond.

Owen took steps closer to me and he looked nervous.  "I-I'm really sorry about not driving you home.  I looked everywhere for you at school, but I couldn't find you."

"I found another ride."  I wanted so bad to just slam my door in his face.

His curious eyes peered closer at me.  "With who?"  Owen asked as he took a step closer.

"Does it really matter?"  I didn't wait for a response. I let out an irritated breath and glared at him.  "Do you need anything else Owen?"  My patience was running low.

"No.  I just wanted to apologize."  Owen turned and walked away.  A part of me wanted to call him and forgive him, but the stubbornness raging inside of me took over.  I shut my door loudly and proceeded with my day.

Hours had passed since Madden had dropped me off, and it was nearing dinner time.  I had played on my laptop all day, and done homework, not really having anything else to do.  I jumped in startle when my phone started to ring.  My hand grasped my forehead and I let out a chuckle at my own stupidity.

"Hello?"  I answered.  I was too surprised, and I guess I had forgotten to check who the caller ID was.

"Hey Lilah,"  A familiar husky voice rang through my ears.

"M-Madden?  Is that you?"  I confusedly scratched my head.  I don't remember giving him my number.

"Sure is,"  his voice was loud and proud.  I could just imagine him grinning on the other side of the phone right now.

"How'd you get my number?"  I asked him.  Seriously don't recall giving it to him.  Is he becoming one of those stalker dudes?  Oh gosh, I hope not.  Next thing ya know, he'll be watching me from outside my window at night, creepily keeping an eye on me for what reason, only God knows.  I hope that's not what will happen...

"Doesn't matter how I got it, just matters that I got it."  Madden chuckled over the phone and I scrunched up my face in confusion.  "So what are you up to?"  Madden quickly changed the subject before I could question him further.

"Oh you know.  The usual."  I picked up my pen and squealed as I read one of the questions for my homework.  I knew the answer, hence the reason for my random fit of squeals which seemed to amuse Madden over the phone.

"Something exciting going on over there?"  Madden asked, obviously referring to my squeal.

"I know the answer to the question for my homework!"  I excitedly scribbled down the answer with anticipation.
