"So... What's our first lesson?" Sam asked.

"You'll see, come on," Daniel replied, turning around and gesturing for the three teens to follow him.

They followed him out to the front of the dojo, where he cut open a bag of sand and drew a big circle with it.

"If we're gonna play in the sand, can't we just go to the beach?" Sam joked.

"No, not today. It's been a long time since this dojo has had more than one student, and you figure with three students, you have triple the defence, right?" Daniel asked.

The trio exchanged glances, confusion evident on their faces. It seemed obvious. The three of them nodded.

"Wrong. One of the cornerstones of Miyagi-Do Karate is always moving in a circle. And with the wheel technique, you'll soon see that three people can be as strong as 20. Now, are you ready?"

The three teens nodded eagerly. For an hour or so, Daniel began to teach techniques that he believed to be best for his three students. Zane had been right, Bonnie was easily picking up everything Daniel taught, even the new techniques that she hadn't learnt before.

"Now, show me the wheel," Daniel called.

As they began moving within the circle, Daniel instructed them to stay in sync or it wouldn't work.

"Technique?" Robby questioned. "This feels more like a dance."

"At what point do we do the hokey pokey and turn ourselves around?" Sam joked, grinning at Bonnie, who let out a quiet giggle.

"Ok, guys, trust me. You master this, no one's going to mess with you. Come on. Let's try it again," Daniel said with a sigh.

They tried again, but once more, they were out of sync. Daniel tried to remain calm as he emphasised that they needed to do each move at the same time.

"How are we supposed to do it at the same time when we can't see each other?" Robby asked.

"You need to sense what your partners are doing, even if you can't see them."

"How exactly are we supposed to do that?" Bonnie asked.

"The Force?" Sam joked once again.

Before Daniel could reply, his phone chimed, interrupting his thoughts. He explained to the three teens that he had to run off to help his wife, Amanda LaRusso, with something.

"Just... feel it, all right? I'll be back as soon as I can. Keep it up," He said.

When Daniel didn't return, the trio decided to head home for the day, Sam dropping Bonnie off back at her house.

"So, what did you think?" Sam asked as she pulled up outside.

"I'm still confused on the whole wheel technique thing."

"So am I!" Sam exclaimed. "But that's not what I meant, what did you think about Robby?!"

Bonnie rolled her eyes as she watched a smile creep up on her best friend's face. "He's good at Karate."
