Chapter 9!
Tensions & Confessions

The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow through the windows of Sam's room, highlighting the soft hum of the ceiling fan overhead. Bonnie had been staying with the LaRusso's for the past week whilst her mother was in New York, helping Zane get settled into his college dorm. She sat cross-legged on the bed, absentmindedly scrolling through messages on her phone when Sam pushed the door open, a playful smirk on her face.
"Hey, you're not planning on hiding out in here all day, are you?" Sam teased, stepping inside and flopping onto the bed beside her. "You've barely left this room all week."
Bonnie sighed, setting her phone aside. "I wasn't hiding. I was just... thinking."
Sam gave her a knowing look. "Uh-huh. And let me guess, you were thinking about reasons not to come to Moon's party tonight?"
Bonnie hesitated, drumming her fingers against her knee. "I mean, can you blame me? After everything that happened at the roller rink, I was kind of hoping for a quiet night in."
Sam sat up, crossing her arms. "I get it, really. But Moon's party isn't like that. No Cobra Kai drama, no fights—just music, food, and friends. You deserve a night to actually have fun."
Bonnie exhaled, staring at the ceiling as she considered it. She wasn't exactly in the mood for a party, but maybe Sam had a point. "I don't know..."
Sam nudged her shoulder. "C'mon, it'll be good for you. Plus, if you don't come, I'll have to suffer through all of Moon's weird astrology talk alone."
Bonnie laughed despite herself. "Alright, fine. But only because you're making me feel guilty."
Sam grinned triumphantly. "Yes! We'll leave at six."
"Six," Bonnie echoed, shaking her head. "This better be worth it."
Sam winked. "Oh, it will be."

Bonnie and Sam arrived at the party with the Miyagi-Do students in tow, their energy high as they chatted and laughed on the way into Moon's house. However, the moment they spotted the Cobra Kai kids lounging on the sofa, the atmosphere shifted. Tension thickened as Miguel and Tory stepped inside.
"Sam! Bonnie! I'm so glad you guys came!" Moon beamed. "The kegs are out back, drinks are in the kitchen, and the vegan pigs in a blanket just got out of the oven."
"Moon, you never said anything about inviting Cobra Kai," Sam grumbled, her eyes shooting daggers at Tory.
"Well, I figured with summer ending and school starting back up, we could all stop the fighting and be friends again," Moon explained.
Sam sighed. "It's wishful thinking."
"Sam, trust me," Moon replied, her tone reassuring. "Get rid of all the negative energy, clear your chakras and have some fun." She flashed a bright smile before walking off.
Bonnie and Sam exchanged a glance. Bonnie shrugged. "Maybe she's right."
Sam rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. I'm going to get a drink." She turned and headed toward the kitchen, leaving the group behind.
Bonnie looked around and noticed the rest of the group had scattered, leaving her and Robby standing alone together.
"You okay?" Bonnie asked, catching the nervous look on Robby's face.
