Chapter 43

"Ugh, why does your condo have to be on the 5th floor and the elevator broke down."

Jennie grumbled as lisa, taeyeon, and her climbed into the 5th floor using the stairs. Earlier, the management informed its clients that the elevator is out of use for the meantime due to some maintenance upgrading, and it will be reopened as soon as it is fixed. The staffs ask for only an hour to fix the lift, but unfortunately, Jennie and lisa are unaware that the hour they chose to visit is the hour the elevator is under repair. So they have to suck up climbing from the ground floor to the 5th floor, complaining at no one in particular.

"Don't be such a wuss. The elevator is only out for an hour."

Taeyeon laughed at her sister's whining, even though she is also tired. Nonetheless, she tells herself that this is good for her because she needs to get some exercise. She spends her days locked up in her room, doing nothing. Perhaps a little exercise will not harm her health, but rather help her keep her body in shape.

They arrive at taeyeon's place feeling sweaty and hot. As Taeyeon entered her code, lisa was busy fanning Jennie with her hand. Jennie didnt ask for it, her instinct just made her do it. She, herself, is in the middle of the heat too, but she knows how to take care of her priorities.

Taeyeon opens the door, and the air inside immediately provides them with a soothing breeze, prompting Jennie to enter without her sister's permission. She simply walked through the door, unbuttoning her blouse to allow air into her body and breathing deeply as if it were the last time she would draw breath.

"Thank God. I thought I'm gonna die."

The two just chuckled at Jennie and help their way inside after a second. Taeyeon went straight to the living room while the other two keeps roaming their eyes, examining the place and giving commentaries. They finally arrived at the living room and Taeyeon is already standing there, waiting for them.

"Well, besides the elevator, this place is nice. But I'm still confused why you bought this when you're just staying here in Seoul for only a few months." Jennie commented.

That's what they think because that's what Taeyeon said before, but the plan has clearly changed now that she's pregnant and the person who impregnated her lives in this country. She wants the best for her child, even if it means giving up her life in the United States.

"Do you intend to stay for a longer period?"

Taeyeon scratched the back of her neck as two pairs of eyes bore into her face. They were wondering what was going on inside her head, and she knew she had to tell them the reason. After all, that's why she invited Jennie and Lisa to her condo. They have to know the truth. 

"I.. uhm.." Taeyeon took a deep breath, closing her eyes to calm herself.

"Yes. I'm planning to stay here but not just longer. I'm staying here for good."

There is an obvious confusion on their faces but they kept hiding it. Jennie's eyebrows creased, trying to analyze what her sister meant about it.

It's just, that taeyeon's life was not in this country. Yes, she had lived here before but her life was meant to be outside. She has her career there, her friends, her job... her life. It was a shock for Jennie to hear Taeyeon is living in Seoul for good.

"For good? You mean you'll live here? Seriously? No cap?"

Teayeon only smiles and nods, though you can sense the sadness in her eyes.

"But you're modeling career was in the states? Are you quitting or.."

"Maybe. It hasn't been decided yet but please, I don't have a plan on thinking about that right now. I have more important stuff to discuss and say to you. More important than my job."
