Hyejin didn't just see yongsun in front of the door the moment she opened it, she also sensed the negative aura years ago when yongsun knew moonbyul left. The heartbreak, the sorrow, the longing, it all radiates on yongsun's fragile frame right now that hyejin can't help but indulge her into the tightest hug.
When yongsun messaged her earlier, hyejin immediately discerned something disastrous had happened considering the letters in yongsun message are all capital letters. She just uses it when it's an emergency or she needs help dealing with something, and she's not wrong though, yongsun really needs her help.
"What happened? What was that all about? Did they do something? Did they hurt you? Are you harassed? Are we finally going to use the gun?"
Continuous questions were thrown at yongsun the moment she stepped inside the house. She wandered her eyes around the living room, locating luna specifically, and when she was certain her daughter was out of sight, she slumped on the cushion and let her tears fall.
Yongsun was practically sobbing, her shoulders were trembling as she covered her face to conceal her whimpers. This just made hyejin worry so much to the point that she ran inside the kitchen to get a glass of water, making an effort to calm her friend.
Gladly, yongsun drinks the contents of the glass and somehow calms down. When her sob subsides, her first word is the name of the person that made her cry.
"M-Moonbyul.."
Hyejin's eyebrows wrinkled, her heart beating erratically as she placed the glass on the table. Is moonbyul the reason why yongsun was like this? Did they finally meet? The thought of moonbyul appearing in front of her friend after 9 years is making hyejin nervous.
Hyejin didn't respond to yongsun's reply. Instead, she sprawled on the floor and waited until the latter is ready to let things out.
"Moonbyul.." Yongsun repeated as she took a deep breath and exhaled before saying, "M-Moonbyul is Taeyeon's wife. Moonbyul is krystal's father. They've been married for seven years.." She paused when a sudden pain emerged inside her chest, "A-And moonbyul doesn't remember me." Yongsun finally ended, another set of fresh tears fell down her delicate cheeks.
The information was enough for hyejin's brain to malfunction. The words that she wanted to speak were all tangled up inside her mind and her mouth went incredibly dry. What did she mean about this shit? It is not possible for that to happen, right?
"What?! I.. Wh-- H-How?"
"Are you sure?"
Wheein was the one who spoke on behalf of hyejin when the woman is still dazed after the news was dropped. She was listening to her friends' conversation behind closed doors and the mention of moonbyul's name made her head out from where she was hiding.
That name is restricted to mention when luna is around. They're just lucky that the girl is inside her room, knocked out on her bed, feeling exhausted from too much laughing at hyejin and wheein's stories.
Yongsun didn't say anything, she just nodded at wheein's remarks while wiping her tears with her hands. She looks awfully pathetic in her situation right now. Dry and fresh tears flow down her cheeks, her eyes are red and swollen, and she can hardly breathe. This didn't matter though. She's hurt, damaged and in agony. Crying is the only way she knows to lessen the pain.
Wheein and hyejin were now sitting beside each other, and if they were completely honest, this was the first time they didn't know what to do or say. Yongsun's tears kept pouring down her face and they were not sure how to prevent it from falling. So, with a defeated sigh, hyejin can only rub her friend's back as wheein helps yongsun wipe her unlimited tears.
