Luna is excited every time the school bell rings. It is an indication that the class has finally ended, that she's free, that she will have ample time with byul again. This is what she's been looking forward every moment the day ends, seeing byul with her toothy smile, hearing her lame jokes, and of course, the chocolate she always spares for luna.
The girl was skipping her way to the bench with a smile that could blind the sun. She looks around at first, trying to see if her mama wheein already arrived to get her, and when she found none, she proceeds to their usual spot.
She can't hide her excitement as she walks. Moonbyul stated yesterday that she would tell her funny and happy stories from her time in the States. Luna was not present in those happy and fun times, but they were important to Byul, and she knew her mother's happiness was important to her as well. She'd gladly hear everything from her to get to know her more.
Yongsun and luna have already discussed the sudden closure of her daughter and byul. At first, luna was nervous about the talk. She understands the status of her parents and it is more complicated than a tightly tied knot. There is a possibility her mother will tell her to not get too close to Byul, or worse, tell her to stop seeing her. She would understand if Yongsun would blurt out those words, but it never occurred. Instead, when Yongsun entered her room the day of the confrontation, she burst into tears and told luna if she was happy with her relationship with byul, she wouldn't interfere and let them.
On the other hand, Yongsun discerns that her decision is quite dangerous. Luna will certainly get too attached to her mother's presence and that would be a problem once moonbyul and taeyeon somehow vanish again.
But, for now, all that matters to her is luna's happiness.. that she won't be sad about not having the mother she always wishes she has.
As Luna gets closer to her destination, moonbyul's usual seat is occupied by someone else. She roamed her eyes around the place, thinking the woman had just found a seat somewhere else because someone had taken her spot, but no, moonbyul was not in sight. And at that particular moment, luna's eyebrows met.
Perhaps she's late? But she's never late.
Perhaps krystal is absent so she doesn't have reason to come? Luna grimaced.
Despite the absence of byul, luna continues to make her way to the bench and wait for wheein. However, as she approached the person sitting in Byul's place, she realized she recognized her, and she certainly remembered the first time they had met.
The woman also did recognised her though.
"Oh! You're luna, right? Yongsun's daughter?"Luna responded with a nod and took her seat beside her, sitting on the corner of the bench to leave just enough space away from the latter.
"I'm taeyeon, your mother's friend." Taeyeon smiled and offered her hand to luna which the girl hesitated to shake, but didn't have the choice but to take it.
"The last time we met wasn't so pleasing, and I want to apologize again for what my daughter caused."
"Mom already told me about how Krystal apologized. It's okay, I already forgive her."
After her mother went home the day she visited taeyeon's residence, she told luna about Krystal sincerely apologising to her. Luna isn't the kind of girl who plants resentment within. She's more like a person who easily forgives people especially if the one asking for forgiveness seriously meant it. So when yongsun had told her about it, the hatred she had for Krystal slowly receded.
