"Lisa, any news about yongsun?"
I couldn't hide the anxiety in my voice as lisa answered the phone. However, given her brief silence and sigh, I know the search for Yongsun's whereabouts is still hopeless.
"We tried contacting her parents, but they said she's staying with her friends, hyejin and wheein, which means they're still unaware of the situation. I didn't say anything else to avoid worrying them, and the men you hired aren't that smart either. They have nothing."
I clenched my fists as I felt my jaw tighten, frustration consuming me once more. It's been days since she's been gone, with no news or text updates on how she's doing, and I'm beginning to worry. If something bad happens to her, I won't forgive myself. Hell, I'm going to take Hyejin's gun and voluntarily shoot myself with it.
"Thank you, lis. If they found anything, tell me immediately."
----Taeyeon mentioned the other day that she's been craving fruits, but I couldn't get them because I was desperately searching for yongsun. She had no idea what I was up to, and I have no plans to tell her. So I told her Lisa and I were planning something business-related, and I couldn't buy her the fruits in the meantime because I was too busy handling the business. She understands and lets me be, but I felt bad about lying and not carrying out my responsibilities.
So, having received no updates from Lisa, I hurriedly purchased the items she requested and drove to her condominium.
I didnt bother ringing the bell as I press the code. Entering inside, I saw her standing on the balcony holding a cup of milk, thoughts somewhere far. She didnt notice my arrival and I didnt bother announcing it. I put the bag of groceries on the table first before I open the sliding door of the balcony and stood beside her.
"Taeyeon."
She just gave me a sidelong glance and a weak smile before returning her gaze to the sky. I mimicked her action, shifting my gaze upward and watching the clouds move in the sky. Now I understand why she enjoys spending her time here. The air is fresh and the view is breathtaking, perfect place if you have something in mind that is needed to sort of.
We were silent for a brief moment before I decided to cut to the chase and speak.
"I bought the fruits you requested, as well as vitamins that I believe—"
"You look tired," she said, cutting me off.
I looked at her, puzzled for a moment before realizing what she meant. I hadn't slept in a couple of days since my time is always spent finding any leads on yongsun's whereabouts. She must have noticed the bags under my eyes.. or is she simply good at reading people's minds?
"This is nothing so don't mind it. Just take care of yourself and the baby." I responded.
She took a sip of her milk and I haven't heard any response after. She just stood there quietly watching the clouds move as the thick air that surrounds us is becoming uncomfortable. I'm not sure what else is running on her mind but I hope it doesn't affect her pregnancy.
Realizing she won't say anything back, I slowly step back to get inside. But, before I could open the door, I froze in place as I heard her next remark.
"I had no idea you loved her so much. How stupid of me not to think of that."
Is this why her thoughts wander so far away from where they should be because of us? She's been standing here, alone and cold, just thinking about me and yongsun?
