(A/N: The big reveal is finally here)

(A/N: Mentions of rape, murder, and torture)

February 19, 1993

The morning after the boys' encounter with Aragog, Ziad went to the library to see a book on magical creatures. When Aragog said that the spiders don't speak of whatever is inside the Chamber, he said it in fear. Ziad figured that the monster makes spiders instinctively terrified of it.

He skimmed through the book when he saw that one of the pages is missing, it looked like it was ripped off.

Ziad: (in his head) Huh, that's weird.

Ziad put the book back on the shelf and left the library.

February 23, 1993

Less than a week later, the boys were visiting Hermione and Max in the Hospital Wing. Ziad left some flowers for Hermione while Harry left some for Max.

Harry: Wish you were here, Hermione and Max. We need you both, now more than ever.

Ziad brushed some hair off of Hermione's eyes and put his left hand on hers, but then he noticed a piece of paper in her closed hand. He managed to take the paper and uncrumpled it to reveal a page that look like it was torn from a book.

His eyes widened when he realized.

Ron: What's that?

Ziad: Guys, this is why Hermione and Max went to the library the day they were attacked. "Of the many fearsome creatures that roam our land, none is more curious and more deadly than the Basilisk, known as the King of Serpents. The snake, which may reach gigantic size, and live many hundreds of years, is born from a chicken egg, hatched beneath a toad. Its methods of killings are most wonderous, for aside from its deadly and venomous fangs, the Basilisk has a murderous stare, and all those who are fixed with the beam of its eyes shall suffer instant death. Spiders flee before the Basilisk, for it is their mortal enemy, and the Basilisk flees only from the crowing of a rooster, which is fatal to it." It all adds up. We saw spiders crawling away from where Mrs. Norris was petrified. Harry and I can hear what it says since it's essentially a giant snake...

Harry: And we saw Hagrid holding some dead roosters earlier in the year.

Ziad: Exactly!

Ron: But how come no one's died? It kills anyone who looks at it

Harry: Because no one did

Ron: What? Have you gone bloody mad?!

Ziad: No, he meant no one made direct eye contact with it.

He walked over to Colin's bed.

Ziad: Colin saw it through his camera. That's why the film inside exploded when the teachers tried to open it.

He walked over to Justin's bed.

Ziad: Justin must've seen it through Nearly Headless Nick, and Nick got the full blast. But you can't kill a ghost, so he's fine.

He walked back over to Hermione and Max's beds.

Ziad: Hermione and Max were found with a mirror. They must've used it to look around corners without dying.

Ron: What about Mrs. Norris? She couldn't have a camera or a mirror, and there were no ghosts nearby.

Harry: The water. The hallway was flooded, remember? She must've seen the Basilisk through the reflection of the water.
