Later that day, Ziad went to Dumbledore's office for his first lesson. He got to the door and knocked on it, and Dumbledore's voice was heard on the other side.
Dumbledore: Enter.
Ziad opened the door and entered to find Dumbledore sitting on his desk.
Dumbledore: Ah, Ziad. There you are, on time.
Ziad: Good evening, Professor.
Dumbledore: First off, how are you doing?
Ziad: Doing well, all things considered.
Dumbledore: Yes, I have heard about that incident.
Ziad: I guess I was afraid I'd be like Spector. But I know I won't be.
Dumbledore: How so?
Ziad: He didn't have anyone who cared about him, did he? I do, that's what make me different from him.
Dumbledore: That's good to hear. How was your training over the summer?
Ziad: Making good progress, Professor. Max and I even became Animagi. I'm an eagle, she's a lion.
Dumbledore: Wonderful. Now, it is time for our lesson. Now, tonight, I think it is important that will help repel the Dementors, since Remus told me that they have a liking to you.
Ziad: That would be extremely helpful, Professor.
Dumbledore: (gets up) The spell I am going to teach you, Ziad, is known as the Patronus Charm. It requires a happy memory for it to work. (takes out his wand) Allow me to show you. (waves his wand) Expecto Patronum.
A silver phoenix burst out of him wand and flew around the room before fading away. Ziad wondered what his Patronus would be before Dumbledore spoke.
Dumbledore: There are two forms of Patroni, Ziad; corporeal and incorporeal. A corporeal Patronus has a distinct shape and form particular to the wizard or witch who conjures it. An incorporeal Patronus does not and cannot fend off Dementors as well as a corporeal one does.
Ziad closed his eyes as he thought back on his memories.
His birthdays...
All the moments he spent with his family...
All the moments he spent with Max...
And the day he and Hermione became best friends.
His heart beat rapidly as whenever he was with her, he felt nothing but love and affection.
Ziad took his wand out of his pocket and waved it.
Ziad: Expecto Patronum.
A silver eagle flew out of his wand and flew around the room before fading away.
