The Wand Weighing Ceremony

November 1, 1994

The day of the wand weighing ceremony arrived.

Ron was still acting like an asshole about the whole thing, still believing that Harry and Ziad put their names in the Goblet.

When Ziad and Harry went to the Great Hall, they were met by a mixture of cheers and boos.

Hermione: (to Ziad) Don't worry about them, Z.

Ziad: I'm more worried about the first task, to be honest.

Hermione: You'll be alright.

Just then, Max sat next to them.

Ziad: (to Max) What's up?

Max: Well, Ginny is ripping Ron a new one in the Common Room.

Harry: So she believes us, then?

Max: Yeah. So do Fred and George.

Hermione: (to Ziad and Harry) I think you two should write to Sirius about the tournament. He'd want to know about this.

Harry: (sighs) I don't know.

Ziad: Mate, he'll either hear it from us or the Daily Prophet. I say it'd be better if we told him.

Harry: Yeah, you're right.

Max took out a quill, ink, and some parchment from her bag and gave them to Harry, who started to write the letter.

Dear Sirius,

You told me to keep you posted on what's happening at Hogwarts, so here it goes-I don't know if you've heard, but the Triwizard Tournament is happening this year and on Saturday night, Ziad and I were picked as champions.

I don't know who put our names in the Goblet of Fire, because I didn't, and I know Ziad didn't either. The other Hogwarts champion is Cedric Diggory, from Hufflepuff.

I hope you and Buckbeak are okay.

Just then, an owl landed in front of Ziad with a parcel.

Ziad: (chuckles) Hey, Horus.

He stroked Horus's feather, and the owl nibbled his fingers lovingly before flying away.

Harry: Whose owl was that?

Ziad: Uncle Jinn's.

He opened the parcel and saw two leather bracers with a fingerless glove attached to each of them.

What Ziad noticed is that they were both right-handed. He then saw a note within the parcel and read it.

I heard from Dumbledore what happened with you and Harry, so I figured that you two would need these wand holsters.

Remember to flick your wrist.

Ziad put on one of the wand holsters on his right arm and placed his wand in it. He flicked his wrist, and his wand came out of the holster and straight onto his hand. He then flicked his wrist inward, and the wand flew back into the holster.

(A/N: They work like the hidden blades from Assassin's Creed)

Max: Those will come in handy.

Ziad: Yes, they will.

He hands Harry the other holster.

Ziad: (to Harry) This one's yours.
