It was Divination, and Trelawney instructed the students to gaze into crystal balls.
Trelawney: Broaden your minds. You must look beyond. The art of crystal gazing is in the clearing of the inner eye. Only then can you see.
Ziad continued looking into his crystal ball, but all he could he is a swirl of fog. Hermione and Max tried a few times, but they got nothing.
Ziad: (to himself) This is bullshit...Okay, just one more time.
He gazed into his crystal ball, and the fog dispersed. Once it did, Ziad placed his hand on the ball. What he saw is a series of flashes.

A younger version of Jennifer and Ahmed, as well as Madeleine, were in a hospital room looking at a crying baby in Jennifer's arms.
Madeleine: Jennifer, he's wonderful.
Ahmed: He is. He looks more like you, habibti.
Jennifer: Well, he takes a bit after you. Would you like to hold him?
Jennifer handed the baby to Ahmed.
Ahmed: (in Arabic) You'll grow up strong like your mother, Ziad. I know you will.

He saw Helbawy and a bearded man hit someone with the same green bolt.

Ziad was in another room with Harry, Dumbledore, and....Voldemort?
Voldemort did something with his wand to breathed fire, summoning a fiery snake.
