"Go, Watson," the crowd roared. "Where is William?" Emily asked, searching the crowd. Gwyn hit her arm. "Emmy, everyone is cheering for your boyfriend, and you are stuck on him. Look at Sam, there he is," she pointed as Sam ran to the ground. The crowd cheered once again. Emily closed her eyes. "Hi, Emily," Rowan said, sitting next to him. "Hi," she said, noticing him wearing Edward's red jersey. "Don't ask," he said, shaking his head. "Wasn't going to, but 7 looks good on you," she said. "Your brother claims the same," he sipped his drink.

She saw Sam searching the crowd. She waved at him, and a smile spread took over his as he waved back. Emily noticed a few people turning back to look at her. The coach called them, Sam joined the rest of the team. Emily didn't miss William looking at her with a confused frown. "Perfect," she said. "What is perfect?" Gwyn asked.  "Everything," she said. Fortunately, Gwyn didn't push it any further.

It was the second match of the season, and after losing the first, every student was anxious. Sam was the first one to get the ball, and they knew they would win. After five consecutive goals, the first half ended in their favor. He ran towards her and leaned against the bar. She leaned towards him, catching more attention.

"Hi," he said. "Hey," she said. He ran a hand through his sweaty hair. Strands fell over his eyes."You are sweaty," she removed a curl from his face. "Good," he said, looking back. "Where is she?" He asked. "Behind me, the fourth row," she said, watching his eye travel up. "People are talking," he said. "I know," she said, hearing more people whisper. Sam noticed Emily looking at them, "Hey, Emmy," he took her hand. "Don't bother about them, alright? They are just noises," he said. "I know," she said he pressed a soft kiss to her knuckles. "You played good," she said. "Thank you, that was the first time you complimented me, I will remember it," he said.

The coach called for him once again. "Bye, darling," she called out, hearing more gasps. "Bye, angel," he laughed, running back. The second half was more stressful. The ball passed between Edward, James, and Sam, and after a near miss, they won. The crowd cheered. People started congratulating the team. "Let's go," Rowan stood up. "Sure." Emily and Gwyn made their way to the field.

"Good game, captain," Emily said. The players stopped talking. Sam turned with a wide smile, his hair was a mess, and his eyes seemed to twinkle. "Hello angel," he said, stepping towards her. She noticed William's eyes on her as well as the rest of the football team's. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he took her slowly by the waist.

"You played good," she said. "Thank you," he leaned in. People looked at them. He slowly grazed his lips against her. They were softer than she thought they would be. Her eyes fluttered close
They pulled back and looked at each other. It was the first time they kissed, and Emily avoided the feeling rising in her chest. It was normal to feel such after kissing someone, she tried to reason. "Do you think they bought it?" he asked close to her ear. She titled her head a bit to look at the surprise faces of the team, "Think so."

He kissed her cheek and took her hand. "Great, join us ?" he asked. "Emily nodded, " she iss walking towards us, " she whispered he took her hand and kissed it. "See you later, angel," he winked before joining the rest of the team.

She saw Isabel kiss William in front of everyone and felt like hurling them into the woods. Controlling her desire, she walked back to the bleacher, feeling all the eyes on her. "Are you dating the captain?" Martha Johnson asked with her toothy grin. Emily looked back at Sam, talking to the coach alone. "Yes, yes, I am dating Sam Watson."

She could feel Martha taking her in, and Emily could easily see her disbelief "good for you, you do realize that he is the prince of heartbreak" she said "I know, see you later" Emily said. "Bye, Emily." Martha walked away. "Could she be more insufferable?" Emily asked. "You aren't a pleasure too, Emmy," Gwyn said. "Whose team are you on again?" she asked. "I am saying it as it is, angel," she teased.

"Stop it," Emily said. "What happened to the no pet names policy, I thought you found it cringe," she asked. Emily saw  Sam joining the team. "Maybe I don't anymore," she said. "How is he dating her?" they heard a girl whisper above them. Gwyn shook her head as another whispered, "His standard fell." Another whisper came.

"Why don't you mind your own business?" Rowan said, joining them. They didn't dare talk back to him. He was an elite. "Don't bother about them," he said. Emily nodded as she saw Gwyn just realize his jersey number. This was going to be fun.

"Why are you wearing Edward's jersey again?" she asked. "He forced me to, Gwyneth," he said. "You two are coming to the after-party, right?" he asked, ruffling his platinum hair. "What party?" Emily asked as Sam joined them. "Ro, James is calling you, hi Gwyneth," he said, his hands finding hers.

"Hey," he smiled at her. "Hey," she smiled back. Rowan cleared his throat. "I am going, Gwyneth, join me?" he asked, stretching his hand. "With pleasure," Gwyn said. Emily saw them walk down with their arms locked. "People are talking," he said. "I know," she said.

"You okay?" she asked. "Yeah, why?" he asked. "You seem a little worried," she said. He smiled, and the Sam she knew was back. "I am fine, you are coming to the party, right?" he asked. Emily hated those loud after-parties. Her first experience wasn't great.

"It will be fun," Sam said. Emily nodded. "I will come," she said. They would be there. "I will pick you up at 8, wear something nice," he said. She crossed her arms. "Define nice," she said. "A dress I meant," he said.

"Sam," Isabel called. "I will be there," she said, standing on her tiptoes. She kissed his cheek, feeling the light stubble. He smelled of aftershave, she noted. "Good luck," she whispered before walking away. She gave Isabel a polite nod and joined Gwyn.
