Alex

I expected a reaction from Matt but he pretended we weren't even there. He looked ahead and side to side, scoping the area for any possible threat. I looked at Bree and she shrugged. I was in a dilemma. I didn't know if Matt heard everything we said. There was no way to confirm if he did, the guy was like molded cement. I decided to let it be and not get more involved than I already was.

At the moment, I was more worried about tonight. I didn't know how to share myself. I received a message earlier from my agent about performing at a wedding. I had accepted not knowing Damon would spring a dinner on me. Trying to make a fuss about the whole thing would make Matt suspicious. So I played cool. This shopping however was taking longer than necessary.

I called Hailey and she helped us through different outfits, especially the one that would make the opposite gender focus on their jobs. When we were done, Zach drove us to the spa. Apparently, that was part of the package. I was so exhausted by the time we finished at the spa. I begged Matt that I wanted to go home to prepare for dinner. This pleased him quite much because it would please his Master.

Zach took Bree home first before taking me home. I got to my house and looked through the window to see that the SUV was still parked outside. Why do they do that? My nosy neighbors would definitely see something to keep their tongues wagging.

I sat in my living room and groaned. My bedroom held no appeal to me at the moment. I had wanted to call Josh but I thought against it. I really did not have the strength to do the talk. I thought about tonight and I dreaded it more. What could go wrong? I didn't even want to know. I looked through the window again and the guys were still there. This is hell!

It was almost seven, so I decided to dress up. The only exciting thing about today was the dress. It was a long black sequin dress. It was backless but with straps. When I put it on, it clung to my body like a second skin. My hair was in an updo but I let some tendrils escape. I did a very light makeup and I was done. When I looked in the mirror, I was taken aback by my reflection. I looked beautiful. Just then, I heard a knock on my door. I picked up my purse and opened the door. Matt was waiting for me.

"It is time ma'am"

"Why won't you call me Alex?" This, he ignored. I had pestered him severally to stop being formal with me but that had not worked so far. Zach was the complete opposite of Matt. Very jovial and even calls me Alex.

We got downstairs and got into the car, the usual Matt way. We drove for a while and stopped. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the place. The hotel screamed class. I could not dare desecrate the hotel by mere description. It was beyond beautiful. I was so carried away to not notice that Zach had driven us through the back. When I noticed it, Matt was already opening the door for me.

I got out of the car and some attendants welcomed me at the entrance. That was weird. I wasn't actually here for leisure, I was meeting Damon and some business partners. But this whole arrangement felt weird to me. Matt waited in the foyer while an attendant escorted me to the rooftop. It was a beautiful sight to behold and the view was breathtaking.

I spotted Damon easily. He was wearing a suit. He looked dapper than ever. He got up when he saw me coming close.

"Alexandria," He said my name in a whisper. He pulled out my chair and guided me to sit down. I gazed longingly at him and knew that I was in trouble. This man had turned my life upside down. My heart fluttered every time I was near him. Yes, he was a controlling bastard but I couldn't help falling for his cold arrogant attitude. He was such an enigma.

"Do you find the place beautiful, mia Volpe " He pulled me out of my thoughts?
