A few days after our heart-to-heart talk, I was going through my bag, searching for something, but I couldn't find it. I searched every corner of the bag, but it wasn't there.

I became antsy, stressed, and panicky. I moved everything and turned the room upside down, still, I couldn't find the damn thing. My mind crossed Damon, but he wouldn't go that far. Or would he?

Damon gifted me a new cell phone since I didn't have one anymore. He complained that I needed one so that he could get in touch with me whenever he wanted. He didn't fail to mention that it was unfortunate for cell phones to be useful, since he hated them anyway.

I noticed that he had been grumpy and tense these few days. He didn't say why, he never did, but he had added three more guys to my security details. I asked him why, and he said because he wanted to breathe fine having to know that I was protected

We had been living relatively peaceful since our last fight. I had asked why we were living in Paris, and he said it was business, and we'd go back once he was done. I didn't believe him; I had seen him sneak out having secret conversations on phone. More men trooped the house, more CCTVs were installed around the huge house, and I began to wonder if Damon was paranoid. Who could be out to get him?

I played by his rule though, because I didn't want another fight; but on this day, I knew I couldn't avoid it. I planned to do something and Damon wouldn't like it. Josh was helping me to get it done. We had planned it so well, but now, I was missing something. There was no other person to ask, than the grumpy man himself.

I walked down to his study quietly. I was scared of going there because he always had his men around. However, today, all was quiet, except for his mumbled voice speaking to someone on the phone.

"When is this happening?" I heard him say. Then he paused to listen again. "Find out, and let me know. I'm counting on you".

He dropped the call. I pretended I didn't hear anything and walked into the study.

"Not now, Alexandria. Whatever you need, ask me later"

He went back to typing on his computer.

"This won't take long. Did you take Vincente's ring from my bag?" I didn't bother to sit down, even though there was a chair right there.

Why?".

"I can't find it in my bag"

"Why do you need it?" He was still not looking at me, just typing on his computer.

"Damon, it's not mine, and I wish to return it."

"Don't bother, it has been returned." His tone was nonchalant like he couldn't be bothered having this conversation.

"I beg your pardon?" Damon was a lot of things; I just didn't know that being a douchebag was part of it.

"It wasn't yours to return Damon. That was inconsiderate of you."

His phone buzzed, and he checked it. That must have been a message, because Damon got up, snapped his laptop shut, and picked up his essentials.

"I will see you later tonight. Don't wait up for me." He kissed my temple, and off he went.

I just stood there, stupefied. The nerve of this guy. How could he have returned Vincente's ring without my consent? Regardless, I still needed to speak with him. I didn't like the way we left things.

Josh offered to help set up a meeting with Vincente. He was here in Paris, thanks to Madre and Josh who couldn't keep their mouth shut.

I went back to the bedroom and watched through the window to confirm if Damon had left. He had, though more men were still crawling around, I had a plan on how to sneak out of the house. I just hoped I had good acting skills.
