Your head was killing, you chest aching and all your bones felt like they were breaking - not a great start to a Tuesday morning. Even though you were piled high with blankets and had a few hot water bottles, you felt freezing, despite the thermometer readings. In truth, you didn't feel like doing much today, and weren't exactly sure why you even bothered waking up in the first place. But you couldn't help but wake up, when your usual alarm was replaced by the sound of a repetitive knocking.
"IT'S 8 IN THE DAMN MORNING LEAVE ME ALONE!"
That seems to shut them up, and you went down to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee, all wrapped in a duvet. As you made your way downstairs though, you noticed someone standing in the window - the one knocking your door. You grabbed the keys off the side, and unlocked the door.
"Morning! Sorry, did I wake you~?"
"Ouma, what the hell are you doing here? It's 8am on a bank holiday Tuesday, and I'm sick."
"You're sick?! All the more reason to stay~! Someone's got to take care of you, riiiight?"
He barged past you, and stood in the hall. He was so full of energy, for such an early morning, far more energetic compared to your current state. He toned down a little once he acknowledged your silent glares.
"So... do you need any help? Coffee, breakfast, bla—"
"Fine, sure, whatever. Just.. don't go making a mess or anything, alright?"
"Riiiiight..."
You retreated back upstairs, and this was your first mistake: letting Kokichi have free reign in your house. You found it difficult to care though, since you were just so ill, nothing he did felt like it mattered. So you went back to your room, and attempted to sleep, when a voice called out from downstairs.
"Hey! Hey, Crackerjack! I made you some coffee~!"
He stumbled into the room carrying a mug that was definitely too full and set it down next to you on the bedside drawers. He then sat down next you, just waiting for you to drink it - his adorable expressions forced you to take a sip, and it wasn't that bad. He must've known how you liked it, which was a surprise; you thought that he'd for sure put salt in it or something. He then put his hand to your forehead and gasped dramatically.
"You're freezing! Even with all of these blankets... hmm... I've an idea!"
Without warning, he jumped onto the bed like a kid on Christmas morning and cuddled up beside you. It paralyzed you, to where you weren't sure whether to shove him off or let him stay. If you let him stay, he would finally finish that sentence... but if *that* was a lie, you didn't want him to stick around.
"What are you doing, Ouma? You're gonna get sick too, you know."
"Ohhh, I hadn't thought about thaaat~ ! Of course I know that, (Y/N)-Chan, but I don't care. Also if I do get sick, that just gives me an excuse to spend more time with you~"
You moved around a little to let him get under the blankets, and he laid down to cuddle with you. At first, you were pretty reluctant, just praying that he wouldn't say *those words* again, but you eventually got comfortable with it.
"Sooooo... why've you been ignoring me this week?"
Of course, now the two of you were finally getting along and happy he had to bring that up: that's just his kind of excitement, is it?
"Have you even thought about why I've been avoiding you, Ouma? Have you so easily forgotten what you told me?"
He sat up and looked a little dejected, as if remembering what he said, and how you responded. True, you could've been a little nicer about it, but you couldn't help yourself. You noticed that he looked a little upset, before he looked back over at you and smiled: here he goes again, masking his emotions...
"Riiiight... about that. That's what I came over for, Crackerjack! I ju—"
"Be quiet, Ouma. I don't need your lies."
"But it wasn't a lie! Why won't you believe me?!"
It was difficult to believe Kokichi at the best of times, let alone about this. You knew he often used emotional and mental manipulation, Gonta being a prime example daily. Before you could even do anything, tears started to form in your eyes from frustration. Kokichi saw this and gave you a ridiculously tight hug.
"Wh-what are you doing, Ouma? Let go of me."
"Why is it so hard for you to believe that I'm not lying to you, (Y/N)? So hard to believe that I love you?"
He said it again - those words you didn't want to hear. Last time, they sounded so hollow and they still did... but maybe that was just how he was? Nothing he ever said sounded sincere, even when he claimed to be. Kokichi clung onto you like a child, even after you told him to get off - he knew you didn't mean it. Tendrils of his purple hair were in your face, as he was shorter than you, and resting his head on your shoulder. He acted so casually, even after telling you he loved you, which made you think he was just lying again. How did he possibly expect you to believe him?
"Well, Crackerjack, give me the silent treatment all you want~! It doesn't change the fact that I'm not lying when I say I love you. All-riiiiiiiiiight?"
He was being so nonchalant and joking, and yet he wanted you to believe him. It only made you cry, to which he inhaled sharply and wiped out tears away instantly. His playful demeanor dropped on seeing you cry, and he let go of you, sitting upright. He moved to the edge of the bed and buried his head in his scarf - he didn't know what to do.
"Stop telling me you love me! It.. it's not true is it? You are a liar, after all... I d-don't know why I'm cr-crying.. what else should I expect from the Supre—"
"Stop that! I know I lie a lot, and yeah... I'm a liar! You got me. But that doesn't mean I lie alllll the time... And y'know, I.. I don't like lying to you."
You looked over at Kokichi, his head buried in his scarf and face dusted pink. He seemed embarrassed to admit that he didn't like to lie to you, and if it were anyone else it would've been a normal thing. But it being Kokichi, him saying he didn't like lying was peculiar. His expression was so.. depressive. As if he was genuinely upset, that you wouldn't believe him.
"Alright... I get it. I'll leave. Hope you get better soon."
He got up from the bed and left the room, before leaving the house. All the while you seemed to be frozen in place, in disbelief still pondering over Kokichi's possible lie. Was it a lie? Were all of those upset expressions... just a lie?
