Self-imposed factious disorder is a serious mental disorder in which someone deceives others by appearing sick, by purposely getting sick or by self-injury.

So yeah... it's fairly light though, not too gory stuff in this oneshot :) read at own discretion.

Third Person:

You stood in Korekiyo's talent lab, and marveled at all the incredible antiques and equipment, the shelves of stockpiled books.... It was amazing. Everyone was currently in the middle of investigating Ryoma's death, and you felt kind of left out - you'd assumed they thought you were useless in investigations, and judging by Kokichi's remarks towards you during the last trial, they didn't exactly want you there. Sure, they all defended themselves by saying hollow shit like 'you are more than you realise' or Kaito's 'the impossible is possible' bullcrap. It was the same thing spouted to you by everyone in your life, and yet every time, it meant less and less. At least Kokichi was honest with you, telling you straight out how useless you were.

You were alone in the lab, and caught glimpse of the gold leaf katana - it was beautiful. So golden, so light, so.... So sharp... You picked it up, despite Korekiyo explicitly telling you all not to. Then, in a swift motion, you slashed the blade across your face, relishing in the thought that they'd finally pay attention to you.... Often they all ignored you, so this was the only way to get them to even acknowledge you. After doing that, you transferred the katana to your other hand, and about to cut it across your stomach when you heard a very familiar voice calling down.

"(Y/N)! Where are youuuuu?"

Damn it. You hastily replaced the katana in its sheath and back where you found it, not really thinking about cleaning up properly... if anything, you kind of hoped he'd notice something was off. It was a terrible thought, and you knew that, but you couldn't help yourself. A plan quickly formulated in your head, and your face contorted into a look of fear.

"Oh, there you are! Hey, wh— what happened to you?!"

You trembled to give full effect, and ran into Kokichi's arms. It was a pathetic attempt at getting his attention, but that didn't stop you. If anything, Kokichi's attention was all you wanted - you didn't much care for the others'.

"S-someone att-attacked me... I f-fought them off, b-but I d-didn't see their face..."

He held you tightly, as you cried into him, the blood getting on his jacket. He glanced around the room, then back at you - he knew something was up.

"So... someone attacked you? But if they wanted to kill you, why go for the face?"

"..they aimed f-for my chest, b-but.. Like I said, I fought them off! They only grazed my face, it's o-okay..."

He let go of you and re-examined the room again, to verify your story. There wasn't any blood anywhere, nothing was out of place, and there was only one thing that would be used properly as a weapon to make a gash like that on you. Kokichi took a step back and held your hands, to see them covered in the gold flakes. He then slowly walked over to the katana in its sheath and slowly pulled it out: it was still bloody.

"Did you just... *lie* to me, Crackerjack?"

His face looked all serious as your tears quickly faded away: he knew exactly what you'd done. His grave expression was enough to turn you to stone, and you couldn't find the energy to speak up for yourself - the game was up.

"You know, I'm almost proud of you: of course there were a few flaws in your lie, but overall... well done! You almost had me!"

He then perked up, as if praising your deceit - was he out of his mind? But you reveled in his attention, as he praised you. He was finally talking to you, which is all you wanted in the first place.

"While I loved your little charade, Crackerjack, next time... please, don't hurt yourself for it. I don't like seeing you all bloodied up!" He took a few steps towards you, before stopping just in front of you. Your breathing got heavy, as he was in such close proximity - what was he going to do?

"Look, (Y/N), I didn't want to say it before, but seeing what you'll do just to make me say it... I think I like you. Which is weird, I knowww... I hate every last one of these stupidheads in this place, but there's just something... different, when I'm with you. So, I'm going to kiss you now, o-kay? And don't be awkward about it!"

You gave him a small smile as if agreeing, as he lightly pressed his lips on yours. You were finally getting what you wanted, but you couldn't help but think... how long would this feeling last? As you both broke away from that sweet moment, you could see the highlights of Kokichi's face reddening. You giggled a little, at how adorable he looked. You then mockingly gave him some head pats, which he actually seemed to like. You walked out of Korekiyo's lab with Kokichi, and went to the investigation - but everyone had turned around to face you, and a few screamed, and Kaito was the first to speak.

"KOKICHI?!! What the hell have you done to her?!"

It then set in, that you'd forgotten to clean up the gash on your face: somehow that had slipped both yours and Kokichi's minds. Everyone looked at Kokichi horrified, as he also had blood on his jacket, but he looked completely unfazed: he was used to being made the villain. But you weren't going to let him take the fall for this, even if he wasn't doing anything to avoid it.

"Hey, can you all just stop blaming Kokichi for just one second?! It's not his fault."

They all clamored in confusion, as if they couldn't believe that Kokichi wasn't responsible for your injury. They all looked at you in concern, and brushed past Kokichi to help you. Ordinarily, you'd enjoy this, but something was different this time: you couldn't stop thinking about Kokichi, and you felt bad for how bad he was treated.

"I was just in Korekiyo's lab... I was looking at the katana and sort of ended up doing this," you motioned to your bloody face as you caught sight of Kokichi running down the hall, "Kokichi had nothing to do with it. Now can you stop flocking around me? I can't just let him run away."

You pushed past everyone, as Korekiyo fumed that you'd entered his lab without his permission, and ran after Kokichi - you hadn't realised how fast he was. As you turned the corner, you couldn't see him at all: where had he gone? You turned around to rejoin the others, when you felt someone wrapping their arms around you from behind, causing you to turn around. Kokichi looked up at you and smiled cheekily, before leading him back to the group, in silence. But he then stopped abruptly, and held you by the wrist to stop you too.

"You don't hate me, do you?"

He looked up at you sadly, but it was impossible to tell if it was genuine or feigned. Either way, you hated seeing him like this, so you gave him a tight squeeze, and kissed him on the forehead.

"Hate you?! Kokichi, I lo—"

"Hey! Don't lie to me!"

He was always so quick to accuse someone of lying... In this place though, that's a fair way to judge people. After all, the killing game was all about deceit and lies. He was probably afraid that you'd end up turning on him the way everyone else did. Kokichi's face was now full of tears, and a hint of anger - he wasn't able to believe you, and therefore didn't want to hear you say those three words. Even though he'd just admitted his own feelings, he couldn't cope with yours as well - it'd have to take some time, realised. So you simply gave him a smile, and wiped away his tears.

"Alright... I get it. Let's get us cleaned up before we go back to the others. Just know, Kokichi - I can't lie to you."
