Small thing: this has a weird AU, where classes from DR2 and 3 attend school together. The first class (ie Makoto, Kyoko) still went through the killing game, and everyone at school knows it happened. Okay small thing over now read the damn story
"Hey! Hey! Wake up! This is supposed to be your thing!"
Jesus Christ... the Panta gremlin really couldn't leave me alone. I know we were in a music class, and sure, I was supposed to enjoy it... but it felt sort of demeaning to be taught by someone less experienced, and told to just respect them. Like, were they not aware that respect went both ways? Even Kokichi understood that, being the Ultimate Supreme Leader and all.
Today they decided to lump the classes together, but even so I didn't really have any connections with any of the girls, except for Chiaki. But even so, she had already kept herself to Hajime... Looks like I was stuck with Kokichi instead, considering nobody else really cared to stay around him for longer than two minutes. He made it his specialty to drive people away within a few minutes of meeting them, and he wasn't afraid to brag about it to me either. I wasn't sure why he even kept me around, and whenever I tried to walk away he'd pull me back in. I suppose it's because he could actually stand me.
"Were you even listening? Usually I'm the one to tune out... nihishishi, sorry, I couldn't resist making a pun! But yeah, considering we have Yukizome, who can't really teach music... she told us to do some songwriting! I thought it'd be a good idea to work with you~"
I sighed and laughed, knowing why he'd wanted to work with me - it was a hobby and career thing for me to write music, so pairing up with me was an easy A. I didn't mind though, since I loved doing it, and it was easy to work with Kokichi: he didn't do much, so he wouldn't really interfere, just hang around and talk. I got up from my desk, as everyone dispersed, pulling Kokichi with me. Eventually we found a quiet spot in a far off classroom, unused. I opened my satchel bag and took some sheet music.
"Of course you have that - I guess me getting some on the way out was useless, huh?"
He then revealed sheets and sheets of sheet music, before tearing it up. As he did so, he smiled gleefully at me, as if he were a child... Ugh, he was annoyingly adorable though.
"So, Koki Dough, y'know how I wasn't listening much? What are we supposed to actually do?"
"Oh riiiight, well shortcake, it's supposed to be some kind of rap? I know it's not your usual choice, and yes I *have* listened to your music... it was terrible! Like, how can anybody listen to that without wanting to blow their brains out like Komaeda..."
You gave him a look of mock offense, as you knew he was once again lying.
"Wait, shortcake?!"
"Whaaat? If you give me a nickname, don't expect me not to give you one~! And it's pretty cute—"
"I'm not c-cute, Panta demon..."
By instinct, of course I'd said that - I hated that I couldn't just ignore Kokichi's taunts the same way everyone else did...
"Can I finish explaining? This 'rap'... it's supposed to be some kind of battle? Y'know, roasting each other or the rest of our classmates. And let's just say that I have a LOT of ideas~!"
His eyes lit up with pure excitement, which was strange as he usually disliked music classes. I suppose that it is true he liked to insult people, and this was just an excuse to do it without being stopped for hurting anyone. I noticed he'd already been scribbling down some ideas, and some were a little too far:
"You can't just straight out swear at people, like calling Miu a bitchlet, Kokichi... You have to be clever about it: that's what you're good at, aren't you?"
