Kind of inspired by Doki Doki Literature Club for a little bit of it.
And I deleted the last story called Practically Perfect because I didn't like it 🙃
Kokichi's POV:
I really thought today would be boring, and at first I couldn't even find the energy to get out of bed. Then I remembered why I bothered going to school, just to see (Y/N)'s smiling face. Even when she's mocking me or something, it's still worth it to see her smile. Don't misunderstand, I'm not a cheesy, sentimental type - but (Y/N) gives me a reason to wake up, and leave the house! I mean, I don't want to keep her waiting. Considering she was the Ultimate Perfectionisf, being late was not an option. She waits just outside for me, every day, so even I'd feel bad if I left her.
So I left my house, still pretty tired, to see (Y/N) standing outside around the corner, as usual. Nice to see she still wears that checkered top I gave her, even after all this time. There is definitely something off though, she looks kinda sad. Not at all how I know her, but when I walked up she turned around beaming. Hm. Maybe it's nothing.
"Morning sleepyhead! Come on, Kokichi, we're gonna be late!"
She didn't really give me a choice: (Y/N) always walked pretty fast, as if the teacher's going to kill her for being two minutes late. She's almost as bad as that NPC Kaito; (Y/N)'s at least bearable though. Her black skirt flounced up and down with her steps, as I tried to keep up. It seems though she's going too fast, even for her.
"Aaargh!"
She'd fallen to the ground, I think she tripped over a rock or something. Now her books had fallen out of her tote bag, and she was nursing a bump on her head. It looked pretty bad actually - I could've sworn she was bleeding, but I couldn't really tell since she'd covered it up.
"Do you need any help there? I think you're bleeding..."
"Oh, no, I'll be fine, Kokichi. It's nothing to worry about, really."
So she got up off the ground as if nothing happened, maybe wincing a little but that's it. I guess she really just doesn't want to be late. We kept on our walk to Hope's Peak, but she'd noticeably slowed down.
"Are you suuuure you're okay? You know we can go to the nurses office if you need to, right?"
"Kokichi, you don't have to worry about me. I'll take care of it, I promise."
"No, we're stopping. You're still bleeding - I think I have some bandages and stuff in my bag from Mikan. Y'know, that strange girl in the other class?"
I put my bag down on a nearby wall, and pulled out bandages and wipes. (Y/N) gave me a sad smile as she stopped walking and stood in front of me. I wasn't really good at giving first aid, but I wanted to at least try - I didn't like looking at her so bloodied up.
"You're not gonna give me any choice, are you?"
"Nihishishi! Nope! Now come here. We should clean it up first."
It took us a few minutes, but I finally finished bandaging up her wound. Once we got to school, nobody really questioned her injury - her cheerful smile was enough to blind people from her bandaging. I took a seat next to her, and she looked at me as if in shock.
"You really don't have to sit next to me Kokichi, if you don't want to. I know you don't like sitting near the front."
"Do you want me to sit next to you or not, stupidhead?"
"... y-yeah, I do."
