•Part twenty one

You and Fred talked for a while about how you were feeling about what happened to Jamie and that nobody knew anything yet. He washed you and your hair while you sat there trying to cover your body.

Once you and your hair were washed, Fred helped you out of the tub and grabbed some clothes for you to dry off and change into. He brushed your hair for you and got into bed with you, his arms around your waist and his hands stroked your hair calmly.

You were falling asleep on his chest, until there was a knock at your dorm door. Fred was about to get up and answer it for you but you done it instead, opening the door to Anthony and George.

"Hey, how you holding up?" Ant asked you as the two stepped inside your dorm. "You know, about everything that happened."

"Not very well. I'm scared, I don't know anything, not even if she's alright." You said and sat back down on your bed.

"Well, Mcgonagall came to talk to us because obviously she knows we are your friends." Anthony told everyone in the room, you, Fred and George.

"Did she?" Fred asked.

"Yeah, she did." George replied. "She said that Emily's father is here and wants to talk to her and Theo at the same time. As soon as possible."

"Oh.. okay. Did she say why?" You asked and stood up, grabbing a jacket and putting it on.

"No, she just said that it is important and you both need to go to her office whenever." George said.

"Thank you, both of you. I'm going to go down there now." You said and picked up your bag. "Feel free to stay in here if you want, I don't mind."

"Do you want me to walk you down?" Fred questioned.

"Yeah, that would be nice." You smiled and Fred stood up too, opening the door for you to leave.

"I'll see you boys in a bit." Fred waved to them.

"Have fun." George said.

"Not too much fun though." Anthony winked.

"We wouldn't, it's not like that." Fred said as you walked out the door without saying goodbye, him waving and following behind you.

The two of you walked out of the common room and towards Mcgonagall's office in silence; until he made conversation.

"I don't know why they said that, you know." Fred spoke.

"I know." You said.

"It was completely out of order, I'm sorry that they even thought we would have sex when your in this state." Fred said. "Or at all."

"It's fine, don't worry. It's not your fault they said that, don't stress about it." You reassured him.

"Good." He smiled and reached out to hold your hand, you held his back.

The two of you walked and talked for a little while more until you finally reached Mcgonagall's office, Theo was waiting outside the door for you.

"Good, you're finally here." Theo said and walked over to hug you. "I don't know what it's about, do you?"

"No I don't know, I'm scared." You told him and let go of Fred's hand.

"I'll leave you to it." Fred said and kissed your temple, waving goodbye to the two of you before turning around the corner.

Once Fred has disappeared, you and Theodore took a deep breath then knocked on the door. It swung open, revealing Mcgonagall standing there waiting with your father next to her. He had a nervous smile on his face and was holding a piece of paper, it looked like she was kind of comforting him.

"Kids!" Your father opened his arms for you and Theo to run into and hug him, which you did happily. "I missed you two, and Jamie-Leigh of course."

"I missed you too." Theo said and you nodded your head in agreement.

"Me too." You smiled as your father kissed your head then Theo's. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Yeah, I'm not mad about it but why are you here?" Theo added onto your question with another question.

"Listen kids, I have to tell you something." He sighed and sat down on a chair, you and Theo doing so as well.

"I will give you three some alone time, I will be in the classroom if you need me." Professor Mcgonagall said. "It was good to see you again, Sirius."

"You too, Minnie. I'll come find you later." Your dad said with a smile on his face while Mcgonagall left her office.

You and Theo caught up with your father for a little bit before he finally told you what he came here for.

"I know what happened with Jamie earlier, the blood and everything." He told you and Theo. "I know she is in the hospital wing, and I also know why it happened and how she is."

"Is she okay?" Theo asked.

"Why did it happen?" You added.

"She's not okay." Sirius said and before any words could come out of your mouth, he stopped you. "She was bleeding from her stomach because of something in her blood, it formed a cut on her lower stomach because the cancer was ripping something inside of her apart. She's been taken to St Mungo's for surgery."

"Oh my gosh." You gasped and Theo sat there in silence. "I'd she already in surgery?"

"Yes, she is. She'll be out soon so Dumbledore has let me take you two out of school for a few days so you can see her whenever you want, or even to stay back at the house for a little while." Your father said as a tear fell from your eye.

"Does this mean the cancer will be gone?" Theo spoke up, his face bright red and tears all down his face, he had been crying silently.

"No, that's another thing I needed to talk to you two about. Jamie's cancer has become terminal.. the doctors say she has until the New Year, but they can't be a hundred percent sure." Your father said, tears falling from his eyes.

You and Theo were speechless.
