It had been a week since Christmas Day, the day of your fathers death, and by far the worst day in your life. You couldn't grieve properly because you had your two siblings to take care of. With Jamie being sick and Theo leaving the house randomly and not telling anyone where he was going, you just became more stressed.

Fred had been amazing. He was checking up on your at every moment he could, he was even trying his best to help with Theo and Jamie. Sometimes he would run after Theo and talk him out of getting high or drunk.

You wanted just one day, not even that, to not have to worry about them and to have a money to grief your father and his death.

You hadn't seen your Uncle Remus, he hadn't left his room ever since. Tonks had to bring food and water up to his room for every breakfast, lunch and dinner time. Every time, you would see her walking past your bedroom door and she looked very drained. She was really close to Sirius.

You woke up with a jolt, sweat covering your forehead and your eyes watering. You dreamt about your father, what his last words should have been when he was old and grey, not when he was young and healthy.

Fred was sat on the floor of your room, waiting for you to wake up. It looked like he hadn't slept in weeks, but it had only been a week. He would always make sure you were safe when you spelt, he had been doing then ever since your fathers death.

He didn't notice that you had woken up, he was falling asleep but waking himself back up every minute or two.

"Why do you always sit there when I'm asleep?" You asked him in a sleepy voice, his head turning around to face yours.

"I made a promise to your father to protect you. That's what I'm doing." Fred said, staring into your eyes and you smiled at him.

"You made a promise to him?" You asked.

"Yeah. It was on Christmas Eve. You were asleep and I was downstairs writing, he was downstairs drinking, and he made me promise to protect you and treat you right." He said. "I intend on doing that for the rest of my life."

You didn't say anything, you only smiled brightly at Fred. You laid one hand on his cheek and lowered your face to place a soft kiss on his lips. He pulled away before the kiss got any more passionate, he had been doing this ever since Sirius' death.

"Why don't you want to kiss me?" You questioned the red-head boy sat on the floor of your room.

"I'm not going to take advantage of you when your in your most fragile state." He told you. "I was raised better than that."

"I'm not in my most fragile state. It's hardly fragile." You stated. "My dads dead. It doesn't mean I'm fragile all of a sudden."

"I know it doesn't, you've just been upset now obviously and I don't want to have sex with you when your sad." Fred told you.

"It's not sex that I want, I just want you to kiss me without pulling away because you think I can't handle anything more." You sighed.

He got up and kneeled down, kissing your lips for longer than just a quick peck. It wasn't a passionate kiss, but you still really like it. It was nice to have Fred kiss you since he hadn't kissed you properly for a week now.

He pulled away from your lips and grabbed your hand instead. He pulled you out of your bed and you were now standing up.

"My parents are here, nobody is at the burrow. I know you don't want people to see you like this, and I know you've had a lot of stress on your because of Jamie and Theo's grief, so let's go to the burrow." Fred said and his hands fell to your waist, holding you.

"What would we do there though?" You asked, looking into his eyes.

"Whatever you want. We could drink, smoke, I can hug you while your cry." He suggested.

You nodded and laid your head on his chest, his arms wrapping around your waist even more and you shut your eyes.

"Yeah, I'd like that." You cuddled into his chest more.

You and Fred walked into the front door of his house. It was dark inside because of all the lights being off. His hand grabbed yours as you looked around at his home. You had never been here before.

"Drink?" Fred asked.

"Yeah, please." You smiled and followed him into the kitchen.

"Do you want something strong or normal?" He asked you.

"Strong, I need something strong today if I'm going to be crying while you hug me like you said." You jumped up and sat down on the kitchen side.

He crouched down and got a bottle of alcohol out of a cupboard. He stood back up straight and got a glass out of the cupboard, but you had other ideas.

"I don't need a glass or a cup." You told him and his attention was drawn on you opening the bottle of vodka.

You brought it your mouth and drank a good amount of the vodka. You offered Fred some and took the bottle, drinking some as well and passing it back to you.

After a while of the two of you sharing the bottle of vodka, you found yourself sat on Fred's lap on the couch kissing his neck and pulling on his red hair.

He was grunting underneath you, his hands roaming your body and tugging at your shirt for you to take it off. You did what he wanted and stopped kissing him to take your shirt off and you threw it somewhere random on the floor.

Your lips were drawn back to his, passionately kissing them whilst unbuckling his belt to pull his trousers down.
