TW : death

It was Christmas morning and you woke up to Theodore and Jamie-Leigh practically jumping on you to get you awake. They do it every year, you were definitely going to miss it the most.

"Come on, let's go open presents!" Theo said as you sat up, turning on a lamp on your nightstand.

"Yeah, everybody else is awake and we're now just waiting on you!" Jamie groaned, sitting on your bed.

"Alright then, let's go downstairs." You said and got out of bed, grabbing a jacket because it was cold upstairs, so it would be downstairs.

The three of you started walking downstairs when you heard the sound of people apparating out of the house. You looked at your siblings in a confused look, but they just shot you the same one back.

You three made it downstairs for there to only be a few people left. Anthony, George, Fred and Ginny were talking in a panic while standing in a circle when they noticed you three standing there doing nothing.

"Morning." George said. "Somethings happened and we've been told to stay here to look after Ginny."

"How many times? I don't need to be looked after so go and help them, I'll even come with you!" Ginny groaned.

"What's happening?" You asked.

"You know who is back." Fred said and you could feel the tension in the air. "Sirius wasn't here when we woke up, Remus and Tonks were the only ones meant to go to help him but obviously Harry had to go, which meant everybody else has to as well."

"Wait, dad's in danger?" Theo said, immediately worried which also made you and Jamie start worrying.

"Yeah." Anthony said, early a slap on the arm by Fred and George. "What? It's true."

"I'm going to help." You said and grabbed your shoes that were on the shoe rack by the front door, sitting down on the stairs to put them on.

"Emily, don't be stupid. You're not going." Fred rolled his eyes and grabbed your shoes, putting them back.

"I think you'll find I'm going to go and help my dad." You said and grabbed your shoes back, putting them on.

"No you aren't." He said.

"Yes I am. You can't just tell me that my dad is in danger and to not do anything about it!" You stated. "You'd be messed up in the head if you think I'm not going to leave this house in a minute."

"If you're going then I'm going too. You aren't going to put yourself in danger without some sort of help there." Fred demanded.

You didn't say anything, you just continued to put your shoes on then ran upstairs to grab your wand. You went back downstairs and grabbed Fred's arm.

"Jamie, Theo, stay here and look after Ginny with the boys please." You said and hugged them goodbye.

"Stay safe." They both said in unison.

"She will." Fred said for you, apparating away.

You had apparated right in front of your dad, spells flying around everything. He was in the middle of a circle, your aunt Bellatrix close by.

"Don't just stand there, grab them!" Bellatrix ordered the other death eaters, one of them grabbing you and the other holding a wand against Fred's throat.

"Fred!" You screamed, he tried to grab you but the wand just got pushed deeper into his neck. "Don't you dare hurt him!"

Augustus Rookwood, the death eater who was holding you with a wand to your head, dragged you away from the middle of the room where your father and his cousin were fighting.

You were next close to your Uncle Remus and close to Hermione, Harry had ran off into the middle of the room to try and help Sirius when Bellatrix's spells were getting more dangerous.

"Do it now, Bellatrix, this one's being a feisty!" Augustus yelled. "Crucio!!!"

You screamed in agony almost automatically, you were in so much pain and it was the worst you had ever felt. Thousands of what felt like sharp needles were shooting through your entire body.

Then you heard the worst words that could ever be said, making you feel even more pain once the spell had been taken off of you. You weren't in any physical pain now, just emotional.

"Avada Kedavra!" Bellatrix yelled.

All death eaters ran off, Bellatrix being the only one left who was laughing while her cousin was hit by the green light. You didn't see it, but you knew it was definitely your father who got hit because of Harry's scream.

You noticed you Uncle run to hold him back from running to find her, his scream of pain only getting louder and more hurt. You were frozen, you didn't want to turn around.

Arms wrapped around you as tears shot down your face rapidly, no sound leaving your body. Hands flew to your hair, stroking it in a comforting way.

That's when it happened. The loudest and most painful sound you had ever heard.

Your cry for your father.

Tears were falling, your voice was getting lost, your scream only getting louder while Fred continued to pull you to the ground so your knees wouldn't give out.

"It's okay. It's okay, baby." He whispered in your ear, his hands stroking you hair as he feel to the floor with you.

"No." You sobbed, trying to get out of his arms to run after your father in the arch.

That only made his grip around you even stronger. He turned you around to face him instead on where you were looking, at your father falling into the arch and disappearing.

"NO!" You bawled.

Your breaths were starting to become uneven and it was getting harder and harder for you to breathe properly, like a panic attack. No matter how hard Fred squeezed your hand or how fast he wiped your tears away, fresh tears would come falling back and you didn't feel any better.

Your father had just died in front of your eyes.
