"Hey kid wake up." A scratchy voice says.
My eyes flicker open. "Ah... What happened?" I ask, my head pounding.
"After you announced your pregnancy, the peacekeepers tackled you and then tazed you." Mr. D says sitting in a chair next to my bed.
"Where's Annabeth?" I ask.
He stares at me sadly, "They gave in... and sent her back to 3." He says softly.
"Oh, thank god." I groan, my head still pounding.
"They made her leave before saying goodbye as punishment, but don't worry kid, Aph went with her.
"Ok... thank you... for everything." I look at him, an aura of sadness around him.
"I want to give you this." he holds his hand out. I reach out and a mettle ring drops in my hand. "It was mine, Annabeth got my wife's ring."
"Wha... I didn't know you are married." I look at the black ring sitting in my palm.
"I was... my wife loved black, so made me get black rings." He smiles softly with a light chuckle. "Get your head right son... the games starts in an hour."
"Wait what... we still had the evaluations." I say.
"You were out of it, I tried to wake you but nothing... oh congrats kid you got the lowest score ever, zero." He smiles.
I enter a small room, Hades standing by the wall. "Hey kid."
"What's this?" I ask.
"Final dressing." He says softly. "I get you dressed for the games."
Hades makes me strip and his lackeys start to dress me. "From the fabric, it looks like the arena will be tropical, lots of water."
"I can do water." I smirk. I twist the ring around my finger. "Did you know Mr. D is married?"
"He was... I'm not surprised he didn't say." He says sadly.
"What?" I ask
"When he went for his games, he had a newly wed wife, and she was 9 months along." He sits on a table. "When he won, he rushed back home... to hear his wife and child died in labor."
"Oh..." I say quietly.
"It's time kid." He hugs me and pushes me into a tube, the tube slides shut. "May the odd be in your favor kid." He taps the glass.
"PREPARE FOR THE GAMES." A voice announces.
The floor start to rise, Hades shrikes away as I go up. The pad I'm on is a small circular clear platform in the middle of water. The cornucopia equally away from every tribute, sitting in the dead center on a small stony island. My heart starts to pound.
"May the 75th Hunger games commence in... 5... 4... 3... 2...1..."
