A large banner writing "Happy Birthday Brooke!" hung over the arch of the entrance, followed by the pink and gold balloons littered evenly across the walls. In the back was a photographer and a photobooth, and not far from him sat the live DJ.

When Brooke said she wanted to go all out, she really did go all out.

There weren't many people here yet— it was mainly Brooke, Tina, Karl, Rae, Mason, and I. Karl was luckily already in LA when Brooke's invitations went out, so he just extended his stay.

The Dream Team had arrived two nights ago, though I hadn't seen them yet. They had been resting from the flight while I had been busy helping Brooke out with her party. Not that it mattered much, I would see them tonight anyway.

Karl and I finished setting the tables for the food, and as I looked around, I noticed that nearly everything was already prepared. All the banners and balloons were hung, the tables and chairs were set, the large disco ball spun in the air, and music was already streaming through the speakers. Tina skipped in my direction, still dressed in her baggy pajamas.

"Bea, Brooke says we can go get ready. The guests will be here in three hours." She looped her arm around mine. I told Karl I'd find him again later and disappeared into the back rooms with Tina. Brooke was getting her makeup done in the same room, and she looked so incredible. She was definitely about to get the birthday she deserved.

I got dressed into the blue silk that Sapnap helped me pick. I couldn't help but blush as I remembered the comment he made about it being George's favourite colour. I wondered whether or not he'd think I was wearing it for him.

Sapnap finding out about my crush on George was purely accidental — I hadn't even told Tina nor Brooke outright about it yet; I was sure they knew, but I never confirmed it.  After a small slip of the tongue and his incessant teasing, he seemed to figure it out all on his own. So far, he was the only other person who knew how I felt about George. And despite his constant pleads to "make a move", I knew I wouldn't. George and I had gone so deep within our friendship that I wasn't even sure beginning a romantic relationship with him was even an option anymore.
