Chapter 24: Contented

He said in a croaked voice...By now Avneet had also come there, leaving Ashu at his friends home as he had his friend's birthday party today...

Avneet understood Abhi's situation and took Inayat in her arms, talking to her and diverting her mind.... Whereas Vaishu went to Abhi and hugged him tightly understanding the emotions he was trapped in...

Soon the doctor came of hospital room after checking on Siddharth... Abhi rushed towards him followed by Vaish and Avu along with Inu in her arms...

Abhi: Doctor...Is he...

Before he could continue...Doc interrupted him...

Doc: Look Mr. Nigam...It is really serious this time...I have already warned you about the consequences last time and I am repeating again your mom had brain tumor which she got operated and due to this reason Siddharth has also chances to develop it and this excessive tension and pressure is making suitable conditions for it and as Siddharth is really very weak mentally and physically I am not sure if he would be able to make up with the future consequences, so beware and take excessive care of him...Don't let him strain his brain and rest all will be fine...

He said in a very serious tone and ended with a smile assuring Abhi...

Abhi: Sure Doctor and thank you, can we meet him??

He asked getting more and more anxious by every passing minute...

The doctor nodded and left... Without waiting even for a second Abhi rushed towards the room...

Inu: Papa...Me want to meet chachu..

Abhi: Baby you can meet after...

Before he could continue Inu spoke with teary eyes...

Inu: Papa please...

Abhi couldn't bear her tears more and nodded...He took her in his arms... They both went inside...As soon as Inu saw Sid she jumped from Abhi's arms but he held her and made her sit carefully on a chair kept beside the bed...Sid was laying on the bed staring at the ceiling, deep lost in his thoughts...

Inu: Chachu...

As soon as he heard his voice, he looked at her...The guilt of raising his hand on her engulfed him...

Inu: Solly chachu... (Sorry)

Sid: No baby...I am sorry...Sorry baby for scolding you... Chachu is so bad na...

He said with teary eyes...

Inu: No.....my chachu is best...

She said while little bit stretching herself and hugging his neck...Sid smiled and kissed her whole face....
Abhi admired there bond standing at a little distance...He smiled seeing the care they have for eachother...

Abhi: Now baby come.... chachu needs rest...

Inu: Nooooooo...I will be with him...

Abhi: No baby...Accha if you want chocolate then come...

Inu thought for a minute and nodded...Abhi couldn't talk to Siddharth but seeing him all good only made his heart flutter...They both went out...Avneet and Vaish were standing there...

Abhi: Avneet go and meet Siddharth now...

Avu: Bhai....I...I mean ho..how can I..

She said being hesitant...But Vaishu pushed her towards the room and said...

Vaish: Go Avneet...You should meet him...Vaise bhi toh didn't talk to him since you came...

Avneet nodded and hesitantly pushed the door knob...As soon as she peeped inside...She saw the person she craved for all these years...Her heart danced with happiness and her soul felt contented...

Avu: May I come in...

She asked being hesitant... Sid's heart skipped a beat hearing her voice...His mind refused to accept it as real and his soul felt blessed...He slowly replied in a faint voice...

Sid: Come in...

She took baby steps and sat on the chair beside him making more distance from him by pulling it a little backward from the bed...There was a peaceful silence with each feeling calm by eachother's presence...

Avu: Ummm...Hii..

She said breaking the silence...

Sid: Hii...

Avu: How are you feeling now.....

Sid: Umm...better....

Again there was a silence but an awkward one and this time Sid broke it...

Sid: How..how is Ashu??

He asked not being sure if he should ask or not...

Avu: He is fine...He just went to his friends birthday party...

Sid: If you don't mind can I...can I meet him once... Please it's been three years....

He said sounding a little desperate...

Avu: Yes...You can...And not only once when ever you want you can meet him Siddharth...Why are you asking like that??

She said making him a little comfortable...

Sid: No...vo..I just thought if you would like it or not...

Avu: I have no problem Siddharth...

Sid: Hm...How are you?? It's been years we have lost the touch...

He said with a sad chuckle at the end...

Avu: I am fine...Just life is going lifeless...

She replied in the same tone...The words seemed normal but the meanings behind them were deep...

Sid: You must be so happy na, new job, new place and a gre-great friends... Even I hope by now you must have surely found someone special for you...

He said in a little taunting tone...

Avu (in mind): I tried but I couldn't Siddharth, that place was, is and will be yours always...

Sid: Avneet....Avneet...

Avu: Huh!!

She said coming out of her thoughts..

Avu: Life was not good at all there...I was just alone, no one was beside me...
