Wednesday. After detention, Peter goes to his therapy appointment. Aunt May drove him there. After his talk with Mr. Stark, he knew it was time to get his life together. Peter is very nervous about this appointment but he knows he needs to talk about everything he's feeling.
Mr. Stark stripping him of his Avenger title and taking his suit made Peter really want to work on his issues for himself and everyone in his life.
Therapist: Do you have any thoughts about harming yourself? Do you have sudden outbreaks of different emotions?
Peter: sometimes. Yeah. I just get so angry sometimes for no reason. And then I have a mental breakdown and start crying. Once that starts I can't stop. This is reoccurring.
While Peter talks, his therapist writes down notes.
Peter: I also have been having nightmares from when I was younger. I've been going through a lot. I just don't want to feel like this anymore. Being sad all the time really does take a toll on me.
The therapist lets Peter just talk. He continues to write.
Peter: Mr. Stark really didn't give me a choice about coming here. If he wasn't forcing me, I wouldn't be here.
Therapist: So you've been having nightmares from your childhood you say?
Peter: Yes but now it just happens once in a while.
Therapist: Over these therapy sessions, I think it is best we start with your childhood and gradually move to the present.
Peter: I don't need to talk about my childhood. I already went to therapy for that.
The therapist starts writing more stuff down while Peter watches. Peter wonders what he is writing down.
Peter: This is going nowhere, can I leave?
The therapist continues to write things down. Which makes Peter anxious and angry. Peter just sucks it up and starts talking about his childhood.
Peter: My parents died when I was younger so I moved in with my Uncle and Aunt. Then my uncle died right in front of me years later.
Therapist: Have you had nightmares about your Uncle?
Peter: I have. I don't like talking about this stuff though. Too much pain.
Therapist: Peter, Once you start opening up about your past, talking about how you feel in the present will be easier. In our next session we will start from the beginning.
Peter realizes that the therapist is right. He needs to open up about everything even if it hurts. He hopes therapy actually works.
