The anticipation is rippling through me as I'm grinning at my phone, rereading our sent messages.
I wait for him to burst through the door, rip my clothes from my body and press me against the wall before destroying my lips to make me his.
It's what I thought my chest needed to burst with elation, a forceful entrance led by the inability to control the desire to repeat last night's events. However, it's a rhythmic trio of knocks humming between his bathroom walls that sends my nerves in overdrive and breaks my face open with an uncontrollable smile.
I lean my shoulder against the wall next to the door, my hand hovering over the doorknob. "Who is it?"
"Bathroom service." His rough morning voice is muffled by the door between us and I immediately regret I chose sneaking out of bed to take a shower over snuggling myself deeper into his embrace.
My biological clock woke me up at 6 and with the feeling of being dirty with my hair smelling like chloride and my skin sticky from sweat, I felt compelled to tiptoe out of the room to take a quick shower.
I didn't expect him to wake up, and neither did I expect to ask him to join. However, as I slide the door open and lock eyes with the man who makes my stomach flip, my regrets about getting out of bed fade away.
Colin's dressed in nothing but his underwear, his eyes are wary with sleep and the waves in his hair are the equivalent of a stormy sea, remnants of a good nap and what might've been the best sex I've ever had. It wasn't perfect, nor was it smooth like in the movies where clothes come off like it's nothing, and preferences are perfectly guessed without communication. Yet my heart feels full as I'm standing in his bathroom, dressed in his white dress shirt he wore to work yesterday and with my lower belly somersaulting from the excitement of the anticipation between us.
"Your 30 seconds have sadly passed." I put myself in the open space of the door, blocking the passageway to enter the bathroom.
He rests both his hands on the doorframe above my head before he intimidatingly leans in as he cocks one eyebrow at me. "I dare you to close the door on me."
I have to use all my willpower not to glance down at his naked torso to admire the muscles he's stretching with his movement. "Don't tempt me," I warn him.
"Think you'll win?"
"What makes you think you will?"
The grin he flashes me shows me he's aware of his effect on me, how weak I am for his touches. "I have my ways," he mutters as his eyes flicker down to my lips.
I planned to tease him, let him work for a kiss however with every inch of space between us he erases, my plan melts away like snow before the sun until he inevitably brushes his mouth over mine.
He grabs my chin and tilts my head to deepen the kiss. The stubble of his beard prickles against my still sensitive lips but I welcome the feeling as it's accompanied by a warm rush of satisfaction.
