"Mushrooms"

"Hey Collei where's Nari?" I asked her as I leant onto the door frame to her and Naris research hut.
Looking up and rolling her eyes she spoke.
"He went off to look for mushroom types again"
She pointed in the direction his small plant consumed ass waddled off to.
When he's in that state all he sees are plants and he will follow them like a blind zombie.
Heading down the trail I spot a pair of footprint guiding me off the trail and into a clearing with lots of mushrooms, ferns and shrubs.
I heard a loud laugh and turning around I spot a red Nari that was rolling on his back.
Studying my surroundings I realised his eyes were tainted red and he had a dozen half eaten mushrooms next to him.
"Cynnnmoooo what brings you hereeee?"
His voice was slurred and confusingly happy since normally he's feisty.
I sat down next to him and he just crawled into my lap making random cat noises.
He rubbed his face into my stomach and hissed at me like some strange animal.
"Rock hard boink" he giggled while smacking my stomach with his little fists.
I picked up the mushrooms next to him and looked at them carefully.
Definitely some sort of poisonous species.
Sighing I spoke while patting his head.
"Nari why do you keep eating mushrooms?"
He just blinked at me and started yanking at my pants.
"Nah only my favourite mushroom"
I blushed and pulled him away from my pants while he kicked around, squealing like a toddler.
Sitting him in-front of me so he couldn't attack my pants and I wrapping my arms around him so he wouldn't escape.
He rolled around in my arms and just giggled like he was being tickled every 20 seconds.

I blushed and held the bridge of my nose.
He reached up and booped my nose before bursting into laughter again.
This reminded me of our school days at the academia where I used to admire Nari in our classes we shared.
He didn't notice me to much but I used to help him with studies and combat.

(Flashback)
I was walking through the halls and I spotted a small green thing being bullied by some older students.
They were holding what looked like a collection of dried flowers in a large book above his head.
His failed attempts to reach it caused his fuzzy tail and ears to bounce with was cute.
Without hesitation I ran forward and jumped just high enough to snatch the book from them.
They grinned and walked towards us but luckily I knew my vision well enough to use some electro to scare them off.
Turning around I finally got a good look at the student.
He has dark glossy hair and thick fluffy ears, deep green eyes like emerald and the most kissable lips I had ever seen.
I mean I knew I was gay the moment I saw the play Romeo and Juliet and I never looked a Juliet once.

A small voice chimed as he dainty slender fingers reached for the book in my hand.
I shock the blush off my face and ushered it towards him.
He took it and bowed before running away.
For the next of our school years I spent well following him around and helping him with every chance I got.
Yes I knew I had a huge crush on him but I had no idea if he even liked men.
If people knew I liked men they would probably tease me for it.
Why is being gay so hard?
There were many failed attempts of mine for trying to ask him out.
My personal favourite was when he was getting coffee and I asked him if he was coffee because I needed him every morning.
He just looked at me confused before taking his coffee and wandering off towards the greenhouse.
I did give him several flowers usually the ones he could never get because he hates the desert.
The yellow cactus flowers.
They were his favourite and I went out of my way to collect every one of them I saw for him.
He was my muse.
I did catch him blushing at me on occasion and he did like my pick up lines although he never took me seriously.
"Are you a red Sumeru rose because your the rare beauty in my eyes"
I gave him a pair of finger guns and blew him a kiss.
He just turned bright red and rolled his eyes at me.
"Cyno red Sumeru roses don't exist-"
I leaned forward and pecked his cheek.
He shot straight up ears and all.
Just sitting there looking stunned and blinking every few seconds.
Gosh he was cute.

(Current)
I kept patting his cute little head that was back in my lap.
"Hey Nari did you like me when we're we at the academia?"
He rolled around and flicked one ear up and the other just after.
I giggled and spoke again.
"Did you have a crush on me at the academia?"
He traced my abs and replied.
"Yeshhhh I did but I couldn't decide"
Maybe he was having a sexuality crisis?
"It's alright Nari"
I rubbed in-between his ears and I almost thought he went to sleep for a second before he bit my stomach.
I shrieked in pain and he just kept laughing again.
"Nari?? What was that for??"
He was giggling like a demon and choking on his words before managing to get out.
"Y-you taste like sexy man"
"I'm never letting you have mushrooms again."
I sighed and kept patting his ferel little head.
"Youuuu know I couldn't decided between you and someone elseseses"
My heart dropped suddenly.
"Who else was there...."
I spoke carefully and my voice shook.
Nari took a long pause before opening his mouth.
