(Second person POV)

The world buzzed and fizzed like a broken bulb, your consciousness fading in and out of the light like some sort of swerving car, the darkness yelling and calling your name as you seemingly weaved between invisible obstacles. Through the miscellaneous collection of overlapping voices that seemed to disfigure the word that labels you as 'you', you managed to locate a single one that brought you peace, that brought you a sense of safety and familiarity.

"(ყ/ɳ)..." it murmured, almost sliding over your body like silk over marble counters, or perhaps just simply like oil over clear water, gliding over the surface as a bird to the earth. It fueled you, seemingly enveloping your form in light, contrasting the empty darkness you feel inside and outside yourself. It warmed you in a way you couldn't comprehend, almost like a gentle flame that peppered mellow, butterfly-light kisses over you, making you feel satisfied and homely, a part of you wishing you could stay this way forever.

Suddenly, the bubble of darkness around you popped, allowing you to plummet through an infinite sea of stars as the gentle glow of the amethyst-purple reaches of space, the lapis-blue winks of the galaxy, and the other multitude of tender colours carved themselves in your memory, and you did not mind one bit.

...So this is what void is... you thought, closing your eyes and allowing yourself to be fully immersed in the experience, allowing the gentleness of your element to embrace you, and allowing the vastness of the cosmic system to fill the emptiness within yourself so that you may feel whole.

"Sҽҽιɳɠ ιʂ ɳσƚ ʂιɱρʅყ ʅσσƙιɳɠ..." you heard the person murmur again, the voice not extraordinarily special, but holding a certain charm that holds extreme significance to you, bringing you back to all those months ago. It is gentle and soothing, like a glistening stream of water that washes away your anxiety, making you feel as if he was right there with you.

"Sσ ƚαƙҽ ɱყ ҽყҽʂ, αɳԃ ʂҽҽ..." he whispered as you listened intently, wanting to catch each tranquil syllable that spilt from his mouth, "Sҽҽ, αɳԃ ƚɾυʅყ ҽxρҽɾιҽɳƈҽ ƚԋҽ ɯσɾʅԃ..."

Suddenly, the vastness of space before you fell away, returning you to your place on the rollercoaster, the chains of Vengestone holding you captive once again. This time, however, the world around you looked... different. The people were all greyed out and you could see the livelihood in them; the heat radiating off both their bodies and other sources of warmth, as well as what appeared to be black butterflies fluttering about the more sickly-looking individuals.

But there was only one person you were particularly interested in. Sensei. He had his back turned toward you, as he always seemed to do in your more recent memories of him. He seemed as if he were looking off into the distance, at the watercolour sunset that seemed to have been painted on the sky by a skilled artist, the clouds seeming like gentle fluffy wads of cotton dancing among the rouge-pink backdrop.

Even so, all of your attention was focused on the man, the male that neither had coin-grey moths frolicking about him nor heat radiating off his body. Was it... really a sign that he was no longer here...?

No, you can't think like that. If you were to linger on that, your eyes will itch too much and allow drops of water to fall from them as easily as rain from a storm and you worry that you may never stop.

He's fine, you insist to yourself, blocking out the other part of you that was telling you to let go, of both him and this sliver of hope that you so desperately hang on to as it will only leave you more hurt. But you refused to listen, pushing it away as you mutter in your head, He's fine. He's fine. He's fine. Sensei's still out there, waiting for me. This is... just a part of the mind element that he's using from afar, right! you decide, insisting in a brighter tone than necessary, He's just waiting for me, that's all. He promised he wouldn't leave and so he won't.
