(Second person POV)
...There are large, dark hounds.
A woman with white hair reaches for you.
A scream.
Was that yours? Or someone else's?
There's blood.
Lots of it.
...It's dark...
Where are you? What is this place...?
"...Hey, get up, new girl!" a voice exclaimed, a voice light and easy that almost unconsciously made you relax a little too.
Eyes flying open, you yelped, "N-no! Please don't eat me!" as you shielded your head with your arms.
"H-huh? Eat you? I... can't be that scary, right?"
...What...? A child? You've never seen this kid in your life... but something about his demeanour and sheepish smile makes you feel safe and warm.
"Hey-y~" he sang, waving a hand in front of your face, "Are you okay? You've been staring at me for a while."
"...Um, y-yeah," you utter in response, voice much softer and higher pitched than what you usually use. "I-I'm fine... A-and I'm sorry, I'm just... surprised, that's all..."
"About The Caretakers, the guys who brought you here?" the boy hummed, carefreely skipping along the carpet in the... room you were in...? "I thought they were scary too, but they turned out to be really nice! They give us food, a place to live and don't give us any restrictions like the grown-ups do!"
"A-ah... okay..." you murmur in response, vision still a little blurry and mind unfocused. "I- I guess you're right..."
"Yeah? It's so much fun here! We can eat when we want to eat, sleep when we want to sleep and play when we want to play! It's way better than the outside!" Noticing your hesitance, he took you by the hand with a grin. "C'mon, let's go and have fun, new roomie!"
Before you could even utter a single sound, he began running out of the chamber you were in, allowing you only a glance back at where you had woken up.
...It's... like a cage... you murmured in your head despite the normal-looking dormitory. Despite that, the atmosphere felt... oppressive, as though there was a huge weight on your chest. Was it because of how close the ceiling looks from your angle?
"By the way," the boy began again, flashing you a bright grin that contrasted the darkness of the halls. "What's your name, new girl? I haven't seen you here before."
"Oh, my name...? It's 🟡..."
"Eh, 🟡? That's a really nice name! Mine's 🟩! Nice to meet you, 🟡! I hope we get to play a lot in the future!"
"...Yeah..."
