Astra and the rest of the class were all resting in a room before the festival started. They discussed amongst themselves how they'd do their best but all Astra could think of was how similar the festival felt to the Grand Magic Games. It had been forever since she'd participated in the games but the feeling came rushing back. The magic, the battles, the strength of the contestants and just like that Astra was pacing the room, all fired up and ready for the festival to begin.
" Wow, Astra, you're making me all nervous with the pacing." Kyoka's voice tempered Astra's fire, not by much though.
She looked into the eyes of her good friend and smiled, hopping from one foot to the next," I'm just so excited! I can't wait for the games to begin!"
Kyoka smiled at her," Good, for a second I thought you were worried about the festival with all the pacing you were doing."
Astra shook her head and looked around. That was when she noticed it - the hush that fell over her classmates. On the opposite side of the room Shouto and Izuku were standing together talking. It looked like everyone was watching them. Izuku was tense as he held his hands out in a placating gesture. Shouto didn't seem to notice, his eyes glazed over the boy front of him in a cold and detached manner.
" From an objective standpoint I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you."
Astra choked back her laughter. Well he is stronger. But there's really no need to point that fact out. What's he getting at here? Izuku stuttered for a bit before deciding on," Uh- well.. ya.''
" You have All Might in your corner. I'm not here to pry, just know that I will beat you."
Izuku looked shocked but Astra mulled over Shoutos choice of words. There were so many declarations of war that Astra was beginning to lose track of them all. Eijiro walked up to Shouto, a not so happy expression on his face," What's the big deal? Why are you picking a fight right before we get started?"
Shouto shrugged off Eijiro's hand and walked away," We're not here to make friends. Don't forget this isn't a team effort."
Something about the way he said it rubbed Astra the wrong way and she stepped in his path. His expression didn't change. The look of pure indifference only egged Astra on more and she jabbed a finger at Shouto," This isn't a one for all Shouto."
He just stared at her, his brow raised," isn't it?"
She pursed her lips," No. When you're a hero and you are in a team with that attitude they won't be able to trust you."
Shouto gave her a bland look," What makes you think I want a team?"
Astra put her hands up, a smile rising to her lips as she sarcastically replied,"You wanna do this alone? Be my guest, just don't be surprised when you face a villain you can't handle and there's no one there to save you."
Shouto scoffed," I don't need saving.."
Keep telling yourself that. Maybe one day... it'll come true.

President Mic's voice rang throughout the stadium and Astra listened. They'd all gathered at the bottom of the stadium, where the games would take place. Ochako was tapping her foot nervously and Astra put a hand on the girl's shoulder making her jump. Ochako sent her a wide eyed stare, Astra smiled in return," This will be fun, no need to be so nervous.''
Ochako nodded, not looking in the least bit confident in Astra's statement.
