CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX : SCARS REVEALED

Astra slept and when she woke up the straps were gone. She stretched, sat upright and glanced around the room once more. The ever present smell of the hospital still lingered in the quiet space.

She spaced her fingers, she looked down at herself and winced.

Her illusion had disappeared. The scars were on full display and she even had new wounds. And on closer inspection, her guild mark was visible located on her right upper breast. Its symbol was inked in gold and shimmering. Resigned to the fact she would be healing her wounds for the next few hours, Astra shut her eyes.

Pain blossomed like a wilting flower and Astra gasped as a sweltering pain that grew in her stomach. There was static and then the all too familiar pain started.

Only an hour passed before she had to stop. Someone was coming inside. A group of students milled into the room and they stared at Astra, concern written all over their faces.

Mina was the first to walk in and she stopped dead in her tracks, halting the class's approach. Sha had her hands over her mouth and was staring at Astra with wide eyes.

Astra smiled," I was wondering when you guys would show up. It was getting lonely."

Tears pooled in Mina's eyes and Izuku pushed his way around the pink haired girl," Why are you blocking the-" Izuku stopped dead in his tracks as he stared at Astra.

Astra quirked a brow," You're both blocking the doorway now."

He gulped and moved over so the others could pile in. One by one they all looked at Astra with open mouths and wide eyes. All except Katsuki of course.

Izuku was the first one to leap forward and clutch her hand, tears brimmed in his eyes as he stared down at her scars and bandages, bandages that no longer hid broken bones and scars no longer hidden behind magic.

" I am so sorry!!" His voice managed through a tsunami of tears.

Astra furrowed her brows," Why are you sorry?" She'd been the one that'd tried to save Katsuki and ended up kidnapped herself. If anything it was her own foolish fault.

" You could have died! I don't know.. what I'd do if that happened..."

She stared into his watery eyes and smiled," You my friend, worry far too much. They wouldn't have killed me."

Mina's voice rang out then," But they did hurt you?!"

Astra looked down and shrugged,'' It takes quite a bit more then what they did to kill me. I'm not so weak. And the scares I'm sure you can tell are quite old.''

Izuku looked confused and spoke but was unable to finish," When..?"

She grinned," Illusions, though they wear off if I get too weak."

Momo walked up to her, her eyes blazing," We were all worried," tears ran down her face as she looked over Astra and Astra suddenly felt bad for making her cry," what they did is unforgivable."

It wasn't a question so Astra didn't respond, too deep in thought. Time passed before she inhaled and grabbed ahold of Momo's hand," You guys really do worry too much. Honestly I'm fine, give me a few hours and I'll be right as rain!"

Shock passed over them as they stared at Astra's nonchalance,"It's not like I didn't see this coming. My family has lots of enemies. Lots of people probably want me dead."

Ida looked outraged," Who's your family? Perhaps-"

Astra put a hand up to stop him," Its nice to know you care so much Ida, really it is. But we deal with all family matters, in private. There'll be no investigation. Your government is free to try to uncover what they can, but it won't do much. They'll come to a dead end eventually."
