I was still on my bed pondering about how my day went when I heard a bang at my door.

The spinning ceiling fan was what kept my eyes busy as I laid on my bed

"Yes! What's it?" The knock was really annoying.

"Mom said you should come out for dinner!" Marcus said.

I sigh.

"Just a minute! I'll be out soon."

"You miss her don't you?" I thought he had already left.

"Get lost you brat!"

I could hear him laughing as he walked away.

"He's so annoying." I said to myself.

Like you guessed, Simisola has already left. She's gone back to stay with her mom ( for like a week), after the weeks stay is exhausted she'd be heading back to campus.

I guess like the saying 'you only miss something when (or in my case someone) when you no longer have them,' that's actually where I'm at now.

I'm missing my roommate right now.

"Things feels so quiet now." Yeah it does. Simisola has always had this talkative personality of hers that's seemed to make even the most quiet places noisy, mine included.

I could either sit here talking to myself all day or just head over to the dining for dinner.

I made my way to the table where the rest of the household sat. Everyone else had already started eating without me.

I used my crutches this time rather than the usual wheelchair. It's been a while since I last used it.

Why did I even stop using it anyways? Oh yeah, I remember now, I stopped using it cause it made my both armpits hurt and consumed much more energy unlike the wheelchair. The only defect of the wheelchair is the fact that it makes my butt hurt. All the sitting down really really does enough damage to my buttocks (funny enough).

We are having boiled white rice and beef stew for dinner. Yummy. I had to say the grace for the meal before I started eating; something that was a family ritual before every meal. A tradition inherited by grandparents and passed on to my parents then down to us.

From the other end where mom sat, I could see her struggling to make herself more comfortable on the chair where she sat. Being pregnant was surely not an easy thing and honestly mummy right now was a perfect example of that.

At just 5months of her pregnancy, her belly is already looking huge and all swelled up like a little hill.

She's already applied for a leave from work, something that's taken like forever to do for her. If not of Dad's Steve persistent I bet she wouldn't have even taken the time to pick the form. Mom can be an hot head sometimes.

He's been like " babe, I think you should pick that form already, you need the time off." ( In an imitative voice of how he actually talks.)

What can I say? I have a workaholic mom who doesn't take the time to prioritize her well being. She puts everyone around her first ( though that's what her job as a nurse demands from her.) In the past few weeks now, she's forgotten she's expectant of a baby and she has to reduce the work load on her plate. She's still the workaholic mom despite being pregnant (that's my mom for you).
