Bare child's feet are drowning in the grass. It's as if they themselves are leading a four-year-old Pete after a gracefully wriggling snake. Here it crawls to the edge of the pit and slides down. The curious kid follows it, noticing too late that at least a dozen of the same reptiles are waiting for him at the bottom of the pit. Pete starts screaming and crying for help. Then everything is vague. Snakes take him in a ring. The parents are too far away to hear him.

But someone pulls him out, and the baby, with a roar, stumbles away.

"Shit... I can't stand it anymore!"

Pete opens his eyes, bouncing on the bed. Taking a deep breath, he fumbles with his hand on the nightstand groping for the phone.

Pete turns off the phone, fluffs up the pillow and lays back down.

Will I really be having this nightmare for the rest of my life?

The most insulting thing is that every time it breaks off at the place where the invisible savior pulls him out of the pit. But who he is, what he looks like, and what happened to him later - this is not given to Pete to find out.

I hope nothing bad happened to you, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi...

The omega squeezes the edge of his blanket. And this... monster appeared out of nowhere. Where did he even come from? Why was he talking about "I know more about you than you think." How? How is it possible?

Reflecting on all these riddles, Pete tosses and turns until four, firmly deciding to give his parents an ultimatum: if they do not give up the idea of marriage, they will not see him again. My life is already not so sweet, why make it even bitter?

But all his ultimatum arguments are broken about Dad's:

"Your father is having serious business issues. Khun Kornwit kindly offered to help."

"So," Pete's heart sinks to his knees and his lips tremble again, "are you selling me to this monster after all?.."

"Come on, Pete. You are no longer a kid," Dad answers with irritation, "and you must understand that each of us has responsibility before thefamily."

"So what am I supposed to do now," the younger omega sobs, "to be burried alive for nothing?!"

"Well, what are you talking about?" Dad's palm falls on his head, "stop looking at his face... Khun Kornwit is a very wealthy and respected alpha. Your father and I are not immortal, and behind him you will be like behind a stone wall... Well. Wipe your tears off. Let's discuss the celebration."

The celebration? Bury your own only son under "this". Is it the joy for you?

Pete knows he's a late kid. Late and long-awaited. However, for some reason they forgot about it soon after his birth. But is it really possible to sell him ike this, in fact, for the opportunity to solve business issues? Pete is hurt. He doesn't want to do it, but he's mad at his parents.

"I can give you something that you will never get in your parents' house. And even where you are so eager to escape from it."

Seriously? I doubt it. But one damn thing... to be wasted.

The collar of the festive shirt presses on the neck like a noose. Everything flashes in bright spots before his eyes - the faces, the outfits of the guests, the furnishings of a luxurious banquet hall.

This masquerade of hypocrisy would be over as soon as possible. Everyone smiles like I'm getting married to a prince from a Disney cartoon. Or maybe, on the contrary... gloating. Which is much closer to the truth.
