The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a big weekend breakfast fill the cozy bright kitchen. Pete really likes cooking for his family. While Macau is watching the last dreams, and Vegas is taking a shower, he can sit alone for a while with a cup of coffee.
Three happy years together. With a smile on an even more beautiful face, the omega goes over the best memories of this period.
Macau. Quite an adult, smart, but still the same amusing guy. Pete remembers taking the younger omega with him to the skate park when the whole family came to visit Pete's parents. The latter were pleasantly surprised by the changes in Vegas' appearance, and Dad managed to whisper to Pete: and why were you worried! Money solves any problem, son.
Pete didn't try to dissuade Dad. And it would hardly have worked.
They met Arm in the park. Watching him keep his eyes on Macau, Pete warned his friend with all seriousness:
"Keep in mind, he's only seventeen."
"So what? Five years difference? What a big deal! You and your husband have twelve years' gap. And you are happy, right?"
Of course, Arm still didn't understand why Pete had a strangled giggle at that "twelve years." But the omega once again emphasized:
"I'm serious, Arm. Macau is still a child. According to Thai laws, as well. Do you understand me?"
"Yes, I understand, calm down, I won't offend him."
Macau is almost twenty now. He is studying at the university and came home on vacation. And, of course, has spent half the night chatting with Arm. So — let him sleep for a while.
Vegas. How much love, kindness, tenderness and endless happiness there are between them. They are an unbreakable support for each other at all times. The safest zone and most comfortable place on earth.
It is a special day. They have been preparing for a long time. They have discussed everything dozens of times and made sure that both are ready for this important step. And even Macau was happy to support them.
Breakfast is spent discussing plans for the day, jokes from Macau and the understanding and condescending smiles of Vegas. And then the husband is waiting for him inside the car. They have very few servants in the new house. Pete insisted that he wanted to handle most of the household chores on his own. So they only hired an au pair and a gardener. The house is smaller than the former Vegas' mansion, but all three of them feel much happier in it. There is no place for bad memories here.
"Uh... excuse me, can we stop for a while?" Vegas is parking near a street cafe, "something presses inside my chest."
"Sure," Pete puts his hand on the alpha's shoulder, "does your heart hurt?"
Vegas frowns and shakes his head:
"I don't know. Like, no pain, but some kind of strange feeling.
"There's plenty of time left. Let's go outside and sit somewhere."
There are several free tables in the cafe. Sitting down at one of them, they make a small order. Pete watches the alpha's face expression. Vegas is focused and obviously trying to understand his feelings. Suddenly, a paper airplane flies into the center of their table. And then, with a fervent laugh and shining eyes, a kid of three years old, or a little less, turns out to be next to them. Pete smiles and hands the child his toy:
"Hey! Here you are, take your paper plane."
But the kid only smiles briefly at Pete. Opening his plump mouth, he stares intently at Vegas. He is clearly in turmoil and does not understand what attracted the attention of the little minx so much. The child grabs the edge of the table and squats, as if playing hide-and-seek. Both Pete and Vegas are laughing. And then they hear from aside:
"Come on, Porsche! Don't bother the adults!"
The parents smile guiltily at Pete, but the kid does not intend to return to them. Then his Dad resorts to a little blackmail:
"Porsche Pachara Kittisawat! If you don't come back immediately, your favorite toy will remain on the shelf in the store!"
The kid is pouting. He takes his plane and, finally showing his sparse-toothed smile, runs back to his parents. Vegas sees him off with his eyes glistening with moisture. Pete covers the alpha's hand with his own:
"The time will come... and they will definitely meet each other. Don't doubt it."
Vegas closes his eyes, the first tears roll down from under his eyelashes. Pete strokes his hand affectionately. He is not in a hurry, giving time to calm down. Then he puts his hand on Vegas' cheek and wipes the salty tracks with his thumb. The same thing is done on the other side. Vegas opens his eyes, intertwines their fingers and says in a confident voice:
"I feel much better. Let's go get our baby, my dove. He's been waiting for us."
Holding hands tightly, they return to the car, knowing that there will be three of them on the way back. And left at home, all in anticipation, Macau is waiting to meet his nephew. Pete looks up at the sky, where dark clouds are slowly gathering, foreshadowing rain. Sunlight is still breaking through the edges. But Pete is not afraid of rain, thunder, or storm. He's no more afraid of anything. And let the storm clouds cover the heavenly light for a while, the one that shines inside his heart will always remain a beacon of their universe among the darkest waters of the ocean named life.
