Chapter 8: Sin and Purity

"Jungkook, what does he mean?" Taehyung nervously asks and looks at the demon who is holding him.

"There are two souls which are reincarnated every five hundred years. One of the souls is the only soul to be born completely tarnished while the other soul can never be tarnished, no matter how much darkness touches the soul. All souls are born pure except for the one that is born tarnished. The two souls are to balance out the world. Demons hunt for the forever tarnished soul while angels hunt for the forever pure soul. It is time for the two souls to be born. They are not always born at the exact same time. They can be several years apart because time does not flow at the same rate in Heaven and Hell as it flows here." Jin explains while Taehyung tries to process everything.

"This is the first time we have ever met your soul. Usually, the angels find you quickly and keep you safely hidden." Yoongi mutters and looks at Namjoon who seems unfazed by everything.

"Usually, we can sense your energy, too. It is interesting that your soul seems like all other souls." Hoseok mumbles and also looks at Namjoon who turns away from their gazes.

"Joonie, what did you do?" Jin asks and looks at the silent angel by his side.

"It is time for fate to be allowed to work properly." Namjoon answers and looks at Jin.

"I understand. I would do the same thing if my lover always got in trouble for something that is not his fault." Hoseok hums and nods in understanding.

"What is going on?" Jimin asks Yoongi and looks at Namjoon and Jin who are clearly communicating.

"Jin is fate. Fate has not been able to work properly because the pure soul and tarnished soul have not been able to live out their fates. This is not Jin's fault. Heaven and Hell are the ones to blame. He is punished when unbalance happens due to the pure soul's and the tarnished soul's fates being manipulated with; even though, he is not the one manipulating their fates. He is punished by the ones manipulating their fates." Yoongi explains to Jimin and Taehyung.

"Is my soul capable of something that Heaven fears?" Taehyung asks because he wonders why Heaven stops his fate.

"No one knows because your fate is always stopped. I would guess that something will happen because of how adamantly they hide you every time you are reincarnated." Jungkook answers and rests his forehead on Taehyung's shoulder.

"What if they found out it was you?!" Jin suddenly shouts and slams his hand on the able, startling everyone.

"I can't watch you suffer anymore." The angel whispers as tears form in his eyes.

"You being punished will make me suffer more." Jin argues and hugs his lover.

"I didn't know Fate is a demon. I thought Fate would be an angel." Taehyung mutters as he watches the pair hold each other.

"Then it might surprise you to learn that Death and Darkness are angels." Jungkook chuckles as he holds his precious human.

"Really?" Taehyung asks in surprise and looks at Jungkook who nods. "What are you?"

"I am Sin and Yoongi is Desire." Jungkook answers and softly smiles at his butterfly.

"I guess you two make sense as demons." Taehyung mutters which causes Jungkook to chuckle.

"Namjoon is Reincarnation or the life cycle, and Hoseok is Hope." Jungkook explains and points to the two angels.

"Reincarnation and Fate, that makes sense that they are together." Taehyung hums and looks at the angel and demon pair.

"Jin, what did Namjoon do?" Hoseok asks.

"He dimmed Taehyung's soul to hide him when he placed Taehyung back in the cycle. He also changed the appearance of the tarnished soul." Jin explains as his lover quietly wraps his arms around his waist and buries his face in Jin's shoulder.
