Chapter 32: Stolen

When the group safely arrives back at the penthouse, they all relax on the couch and think about what they should do for the rest of the day.

"How about ice cream?" Gabriel asks and gets up to grab ice cream.

"Is he obsessed with ice cream?" Jimin asks as he watches Gabriel create different tubs of ice cream.

"He's the one who discovered ice cream when I was younger. I think I was upset about something, so he started frantically creating things that I might like. Amongst all of the crazy things he created was ice cream. I absolutely loved it, so he asked me if I would want to show humans how to make ice cream. Together, we taught humans how to make ice cream. Because I was small and weak for an angel, he protected me. Because he protected me, Jin and I became close." Hoseok explains as Gabriel fixes several bowls for everyone.

"Hoseok, do you want-"

"What's wrong?" Raphael asks when the bowl in Gabriel's hand suddenly falls and shatters.

"Seokjin." Gabriel mutters and suddenly disappears.

"Fuck." Yoongi and Jungkook mutter and become tense.

The group stays silent as they wait for Gabriel to return. Yoongi and Jungkook panic when they cannot contact Jin through their bond.

"Quickly! Bring me your extra souls!" Gabriel shouts when he returns with a severely injured Seokjin.

"Jin!" Yoongi and Jungkook shout as they run over to Gabriel and Jin.

"Hurry! He's dying!" Gabriel shouts as he desperately transfers his energy to the demon in his arms.

Yoongi and Jungkook quickly give Jin as many souls as they can. Taehyung and Jimin quietly watch and realize that Namjoon did not return with Gabriel.

"Jimin, Namjoon isn't here." Taehyung whispers and nervously holds his friend's hand.

"I wonder what happened." Jimin mutters as Jungkook and Yoongi try their best to heal their older brother.

"Joon. Joonie. They took my Joonie." Jin suddenly sobs the moment his eyes open.

"Who? What happened?" Yoongi quickly asks as he holds Jin's hand.

"Hunters. There were about fifty hunters. They came for my Joonie." Jin sobs as he tries to sit up.

"Jin, stay still. You are severely injured." Gabriel holds Jin still and gently wipes Jin's tears away.

"My Joonie. They took my Joonie!" Jin sobs as reality comes crashing down on him. "We have to find him!" Jin shouts and weakly fights against Gabriel's firm hold.

"We will go and find him. You need to stay here." Jungkook gently holds Seokjin still and tries his best to smile for his older brother.

"He's the angel they were after." Jin cries as he looks at his brothers.

"Why didn't I guess that? He has saved many souls from Purgatory messing with the fucked up balance Heaven and Hell keep harping on about." Raphael clenches his fists in frustration.

"I know of an area where we can sneak into Purgatory without being noticed." Lee Know tells them as he looks at the injured demon.

"Okay, take us there." Jungkook turns and looks at the younger demon.

"I'm going with you." Taehyung grabs Jungkook's hand before he leaves.

"I need you to stay here to protect Jimin and Jin. The rest of us will have to go, so I need you to stay here to protect them. Can you do that for me?" Jungkook tells Taehyung and hugs him.
