Chapter 30: The Stress of Danger

"I don't think that I am their goal. I do think that my grandmother wants to take me with her, but I am not their goal." Taehyung mumbles as he lies on Jungkook's chest and traces his finger over the butterfly on the demon's chest.

"I have to agree. At least we know now that they are not strong enough to fight all of us at once." Jungkook hums and kisses the top of Taehyung's head.

"Earlier, I heard Namjoon and Jin talking. It sounds like they are planning on going to look for the angel that the hunters are searching for." Taehyung points out then looks up into the demon's red eyes.

"That's a good idea. I am sure that angel is currently scared and alone. Escaping from Purgatory is no small feat. Monsters, twisted souls, demons, fallen angels, and many other dark beings roam Purgatory. Plus, hunters guard the perimeter. That is why Seojoon was so badly injured when he came to us." Jungkook explains as his fingers gently card through Taehyung's hair.

"Will it be dangerous for them to look for the angel?" The human quietly mumbles with worry in his voice.

"Namjoon is an archangel, and Jin is a prince of Hell. They will be okay. Plus, Jin will call for Yoongi and I if they are in danger." Jungkook softly smiles and comforts his worried human.

"Okay, that is good then." Taehyung hums and closes his eyes.

The next morning, Jin and Namjoon prepare to leave in search for the angel that the hunters are searching for. As they pack, Gabriel pulls out a large, glowing sword and hands it to Jin.

"Take it. You'll need it." He hums and places it in Jin's hand.

"What about you?" Jin asks as he looks at the majestic sword.

"I have plenty more. Don't worry about me." Gabriel softly smiles and pats Jin's back

"Don't suddenly start acting like a father to me." Jin softly laughs when he sees worry in Gabriel's eyes.

"I would never. I don't deserve that right." Gabriel hums with sadness in his eyes then walks out of the room.

"Appa, thank you." Jin tells the stunned archangel. "I know about all of the times you went and asked for Heaven to make me an angel."

"A being made by an angel can only be a demon. Only a being made by a god can be an angel or a human. That is what I was told every time. I am sorry that I am the one who created you. I thought that the being I made would be allowed to be an angel because I have the strength of a god, but alas, I am no god." Gabriel quietly mumbles as he looks at the demon he created and has loved as a son for thousands of years.

"I never once wished that I was created by another. I remember how much time and care you took to create me. I remember the very first time that I opened my eyes. You were happy. I have never seen you smile that brightly. I remember the pain in your eyes when they classified me as a demon. Whenever I watched human families, I always knew that you were my father. Just like a human father, you did everything you could to make me strong and independent. Thank you, Appa." Jin suddenly hugs Gabriel who quietly cries.

"Don't talk like you are going to die. I will come to you when you are in danger. Be careful and come back quickly. Also, don't worry about your brothers and family. I will keep them safe." Gabriel wraps Jin in his arms and hugs the demon as tightly as possible.

"Do you want a hug?" Namjoon asks and looks at Jungkook who quickly shakes his head.

"You are an more of an older brother than father to me." Jungkook smiles as he watches Jin and Gabriel hug each other.

"I feel the same way." Namjoon hums and pats Jungkook's back.

"Be careful and come back quickly. If you can't find the other angel, just come back." Jungkook quietly mumbles because he knows that Namjoon and Jin will be in danger.
